Hayloft Verdelho, comfort and elegance in an atmosphere of tranquility

We were 3 people that stayed in this quaint little cottage. We found it to be a great launching point for the activities we had planned at the following locations: Porto Moniz, the natural pools in Seixal, the beautiful pebble beach at Ribeira Janela, and Levada 25 fontes. Hikes at Pico Arieiro and Sao Lourenco were approx. 1 hour away. It is a very well-appointed cottage, furnished with 2 very comfortable sofas, and comfortable beds. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need if you choose to cook. There is a small grocery store located just a 2-minute drive from Verdelho. I celebrated my birthday during my stay at Hayloft Verdelho. While Tiago was replenishing our breakfast supplies, he surprised me with a box of artisanal chocolates, a gesture that was so thoughtful...and completely unexpected. As other reviews have mentioned, the upstairs bedrooms were warm. There is a small fan in one of the bedrooms and a powerful fan in the living room. The property has 3 cottages, but the parking lot has room for only 2 cars. A beautiful place to stay!

It hast been a wonderful stay. Everything was clean, we found everything we needed. The communication worked well (even if we haven't seen the Manager, but it was not needed, so we are fine with that). The three cottages are close to each other - but it worked quite well with the neighbours. The only drawback are the dogs in the house over the street - they we're barking a lot and didn't calm down during the night, that was really annoying. Anyway, we did enjoy the barbecue and fireplace, the lizards, the falcon, the hammock, the sun and the cooler breeze, and the good starting point for diving and hiking.

Had a great weeklong stay at the Verdelho house. Private sauna, 2 tiny bedrooms were enough for us. True that the upstairs can get hot on a warm day but there's a fan in the room and other good ventilation options. Tiago was very responsive and met us on check-in. A beautiful place, thoughtfully crafted. A steep stairway may be difficult for those with limited mobility. Our fridge was stocked with generous breakfast options for the week. Excellent quiet location, well-placed for any hikes on the West side of Madeira. Can't wait to come back!
