A beautiful and unique Grade II listed family house in the historic market town of Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. Set in a large private walled garden and woodland overlooking the Towy (Twyi) Valley on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. It's an ideal location for family gatherings or walking and cycling groups wanting to relax and explore this beautiful part of Wales.

BaysHill House can accommodate up to 12 people and equipped with everything needed for the perfect holiday. A period cottage connected to the main house can accommodate an 3 people and can be booked separately.

The National Trust’s Dinefwr Park is a moments walk away and The Brecon Beacons National Park is famous for its beautiful stillness and remote nature is close by. Visitors are drawn to the miles of rolling hills, mountains, and forests which provide the perfect setting for families and groups to explore. For adventurous ones, long distance walking and cycling routes are world class.

The property provides the perfect based to explore and discover this wonderful part of Wales known as the Garden of Wales. From the Black Mountains to the award winning Aberglasney Country House or the seaside destinations of the Gower Peninsular to the The National Botanical Gardens of Wales all are in close proximity to BaysHill House.

Perfect for our extended family - Llandeilo is charming, with plenty of facilities within easy walking distance. There is so much to see and do in the area, within a 30-minute drive. The house is comfortable and spacious, and a relaxed place for our four children aged between 7 and 2. Best of all, the garden is huge, safe, but exciting.

Fantastic house for our family long weekend get together. 10 of us and a dog. The house was spacious and extremely well equipped for cooking up big meals. The garden / woodland is huge and we had so much fun playing games and enjoying an evening beverage. The house itself was perfectly located for walking and exploring the sweet town. And a 20 minute walk to Dinefwr Castle. We drive 45 minutes to the beautiful Pembrey beach. Huge dog friendly section. We absolutely loved staying here. Would definitely return.

Property full of character. Lots of space. Ideal for large groups or large family holiday. Fabulous garden.We visited the beach about an hour away. A National Trust property only 20 minutes away, the 4 Waterfalls Trail about an hour away and Carreg Castle which was near to the property. Many places to visit in the area, our family enjoyed a lovely holiday.

We were a group of 6 adults, 6 children and 4 dogs. The house offered a perfect base to explore the local areas. The kitchen is one of the most well equipped we have stayed in which was perfect for cooking meals to enjoy together in the house. The garden is perfect for the kids and dogs to run around in and the children spent ages occupying themselves on the tyre swing. The little walled courtyard was perfect for letting the dogs out without having to watch them in the main garden. The hosts are very responsive and were quick to resolve an issue with a TV remote and had a new one delivered to the house the next day. Can’t fault the communication and friendliness of Tom and Serena :-)On arrival, we couldn’t get into the locked barn grounds to park the vehicles as the code isn’t listed on the emailed information. It is in the folder in the property. Perhaps worth putting the code on the emailed information too so guests can park up before entering the house. Only slight niggles were the temperature of the hot water. The bath didn’t need any cold added and was not really hot enough for the adults. Also after a 7 hour journey we were desperate for a cup of tea. We were surprised there is no complimentary welcome pack. There is a shop just around the corner so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience to pop by and get some but would have been nice to be left some milk and teabags/coffee to get us started. Overall, would highly recommend Bayshill House.

Very quirky, easily big enough to accommodate 12 people without you being on top of each other, my grandchildren had a lovely time playing hide and seek. The cleaning could be alot better but over all a lovely spacious property, handy for the shops and off road parking if needed.

A few leaflets about the area would have been good. We found the library on the day it was closed which may have helped. Another toilet upstairs in the house would have been useful, but generally the house was very comfortable .was

I just stayed for the last 4 nights with 5 adults 6 children 1-7 3 dogs and 2 puppies. It was the best week we’ve all had before. Beautiful property in an amazing rural location. Village has everything we needed to a great bakery and a butchers. The property housed us extremely well without anyone feeling on top of each other. The garden alone is the best thing of the property as dogs didn’t need to be walked and the little ones needed naps after an hour running round. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anymore. One only negative unfortunately was the check in check out times. It was so late on the Monday then early on the Friday, when we actually cleaned around ans stripped the beds so wish at least we could have had a late checkout as unsure why all that time is needed to clean but hey ho covid what’s ruined everything. We will definatly look to book again for sure.

Comfortable, well equipped and historical house in good location with gem of a garden, which fortunately we were able to take full advantage of due to the exceptionally good weather. Had an enjoyable family BBQ and lots of family games in the garden. The town walk definitely a must, as well as a visit to Newton House and it’s surrounding walks.

It’s a super property with an incredible garden. Tom was very helpful when we needed assistance. Do note that there is only one shower, in addition to a bath. We managed fine with 11 of us though!

We had a lovely family break with 12 people (age range of 6 years - 85 years) and 3 dogs. The garden was loved by all, children and dogs during the day and by the adults star gazing at night. The property was well equipped and all instructions given for property entry, emergency contacts, recycling etc. were all very clear. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking at coming back next year. Thank you so much 😊

We rented this property as a group of 12. The property is magnificent with many original features. It is very large and we had plenty of room. There is a lovely new, well equipped kitchen but we struggled to store all of our food in the cupboards. The property would also benefit from a larger fridge/ freezer. The shower room was large but the tiles could do with the grouting being replaced. The best feature of the house is the garden. It is huge and absolutely beautiful. We were lucky to have fantastic weather and used the garden a lot. We had fun playing rounders, boules, badminton, building dens in the wooded area, using the fire pit and having BBQ’s. The surrounding area is beautiful and we had an excellent time visiting the beaches, waterfalls and gardens.

This old, gorgeous, fascinating house was absolutely perfect for celebrating our lovely relatives surprise 80th birthday weekend - this house is a true gem and the garden is outstanding! Llandeilo town itself is just at the end of the little road which is home to beautiful coffee shops, and other interesting ones to browse and be tempted by. Dinefwr House and Gardens is within easy walking distance for the walkers in the family - we 100% loved and appreciated our family time together in such a lovely house and area

Dogs and kids loved the huge garden. So did us adults. Lovely old house with lots of character. Plenty of fab walks very near and little town literally round the corner. One tip - if you’re looking for the cutlery it’s in a drawer inside the saucepan cupboard- we all had a wonderful time and will definitely go back

Had a bit of an issue checking and initially there were no sheets on the beds. This was all sorted out fairly quickly though. The rest of the stay was really good. The house is lovely and had plenty of space for 10 of us at a 40th birthday party. The local walking and scenery is excellent and there are really good pubs in the town.

I have just returned from a long weekend reading books with a group of friends at this beautiful property. It was a perfect venue - quiet, spacious, very affordable, and with a stunning (and surprisingly big!) garden and beautiful local walks to enjoy. The photos don't do the place justice. We were so pleased as we arrived to see all the lush coloured glass, wildly decorative coving and unusual layout. It was a pleasure to be able to stay there for a while. Tips to future people staying there - parking in the stables is pretty tight so move the cars in the daytime; bring salt and pepper, oven gloves and extra toilet paper; pack hot water bottles and extra blankets if you're going in the winter - the attic room is cold. All that said, we were delighted with our stay, especially given the price. Thank you!

Great house, unique and quirky, we all loved it. VRBO need to keep up to date with hosts as we were informed by the hosts that we needed to bring towels and bed linen, just a week before departure. They very kindly agreed to provide both at no extra charge because of the mix up. According to VRBO all bed linen and towels were provided. Also check out time is different on VRBO website. Other than that we had a fabulous time away and would recommend this house.

The house was old and well used as expected but offered real value for money as it was considerably cheaper than most of the other rentals I looked at that slept 12 people. You needed to park on the street and get into the house to get the key to open the stables for parking .The details sent said the stables would be open so thought it worthwhile mentioning it to avoid others the confusion we had! The drop in the Courtyard Garden was very steep and one of our dogs fell from it . Also the gate at the back of the wooded garden was wide open so please do a rekkie before letting your young children/dogs roam. The Dishwasher didn’t seem to work. Apart from the above niggles it was a very enjoyable stay.

This really is a home. A beautiful, listed house with all the original features. The garden is an incredible space for kids and adults to explore. It has everything you could possibly need for the most relaxing time to spend with those you love. Spotlessly clean throughout. The house requires a deep clean. The house was dusty and musty. The top of the fridge had a layer of dirt. Plates and cups were unclean and kitchen cupboards smelt. -There was dust on the bed frames and under beds. -We were unable to let the children sleep in the attic due to the damp. This meant that families needed to rearrange sleeping arrangements. Not all rooms had wardrobes. - Sanitation was a huge problem for 8 adults and 3 children. There are not enough toilets and the toilets were not of a good standard. The bath plug hole was rusty. -windows did not close properly and in the high winds this was a problem We booked the house for the ‘Georgian theme’ and garden, but felt like we were actually living in these times. The house Requires a complete refresh and update The garden is the best feature. The location is also very good.

We were all made up with the house and especially the grounds. There was plenty of room for all to find there own space and enough for family time and food. The rooms were a bit hot at times mostly because of the sometimes weird weather. If all rooms occupied a bigger fridge would be needed. Not being used to the the recycling of food as well as other types was a bit off putting but we got there in the end. Plenty to do in area and the kids made comment on how good the internet was. All in all a fabulous time. B b

A lovely house with plenty of room for 6 adults, 3 children and 3 dogs, rented primarily for the garden which certainly did not disappoint! The children and dogs enjoyed the freedom of lawns, woods and places to explore all in very secure surroundings. Llandeilo town main street is a few steps from the front door and a castle and manor house within easy walking distance so you can safely leave your car in the stables. We look forward to returning soon.

Easter weekend 2019 for a mixed age family gathering.6 adults,4 children sub 8 yrs and 2 dogs.Bayshill House was an ideal base.The house is comfortable, welcoming and unfussy . Amenities worked well ,well equipped and steps away from shops,cafes and local hostelries.Cars unused for days on end. National Trust (Dinefwr) an easy stroll. Fantastic garden for children ,adventure,Easter egg hunt and BBQ. A really good experience.

Beautiful house with everything for a relaxed family holiday. A step back in time but all modern comforts. The garden/woodland is a complete gem, full of spring flowers when we stayed- great for adventures. The children loved the attic bedrooms. Lots to do in Llandeilo and the surrounding area so that we barely used the cars all week - Dinefwr Castle was walkable, and interesting shops, pubs, cafes, delis, bakeries - and everyone very friendly.
