Why visit Calasetta:

The territory of Calasetta offers numerous beaches of outstanding beauty. The coast of Calasetta is steep and rocky, sandy and low in the west to the north east. The coastline has suffered three major fractures that correspond to three beautiful beaches: Spiaggia Grande, Salina and Sottotorre. Of incomparable beauty the presence of a rocky bastion in the west that extends up to depths of 10 m and contributing to the creation of caves and rocks to great effect. One of the most striking examples of the work of the Sea is undoubtedly 'The nest of sparrows', a couple of rocks emerging from the sea where many birds take refuge.

Calasetta is very famous for its distinctive urban tower which appears frequently in the images of the country. Built before the foundation of the town, around 1737, was built by the Savoy in defense of the canal between S. Antioco and the island of San Pietro. The main function of the tower was to spot the Saracen vessels.

Among the typical traditions of this country, which claims a strong voice its Tabarkan origins and that still speak fluently the language of Tabarka, there are some feasts of great charm. One of these is the feast of St. John the Baptist, which alternates rites of pagan rituals and sacred that involves the whole population in dancing and singing in the night illuminated by bonfires.

Not to be missed is the typical cuisine of Calasetta. In every dish combines a mixture of genres in which the culinary dishes originating in Liguria clashes and meet with contributions from the north - African, Sicilian and Sardinian tradition. They offers recipes characterized by a riot of fresh tuna that joins chickpea porridge and fish soups.

When visiting Calasetta you can not help but to reserve visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art 'Ermanno Leinardi', which houses a vast collection of works by contemporary painters, and Galleria Mangiabarche recently open where international artists takes residencies throughout the year.

Town: Italy, Sulcis Calasetta

The municipal area is the northern part of the Island of Sant'Antioco, is characterized by low hills with steep coasts, cliffs to the west, while to the east the coast is low and characterized by a shallow sea gulf.

The town is known as the 'white' for the prevailing color of the houses. The town stands on a hill which descends towards the harbor, giving the country a similar shape to a polygon. The center seen from \ 'suggests a high \' idea of ??extreme rigor and regularity for the \ 'order of its straight streets that intersect forming an orthogonal grid.

The property met our needs and we had a restful, relaxing holiday. It's useful to bring your own pool towels. Margherita was a great host and effectively communicated with us. She met us at the property when we arrived, gave us tips about where to eat & places to visit.

We enjoyed a wonderful week in Margerita’s villa. She was extremely attentive in terms of check in and had the property ready for us very early which was kind. She also responded speedily to a couple of questions we had. The pool is heaven and very large for the property size and the kitchen and living areas were perfectly functional. The terrace is a happy place to sit under shade and there are some stunning beaches within a short drive, both sandy and Star Wars like, the latter of which we loved. The Villa was spotless and there was a cold beer was in the fridge to welcome us. Our teen enjoyed the top floor room where the bathroom was entirely appropriate for her needs. Thank you for a wonderful, homely stay.

Very basic, not enough equipment for six guests and barely adequate for four. The pool however was excellent.
