About this villa rental

La Huerta Vieja is a fabulous luxury 4-bed villa located on the outskirts of Alhaurin El Grande, in the valley between the River Fahala & the stream of Blas González. The property is surrounded by stunning green-belt countryside views, and yet is just a 5 minute drive (5km) from the town centre, just 22km from the airport, 29km from Malaga city centre, 25km from Fuengirola and only 36.5km from Marbella.

The property itself is situated in extensive mature gardens containing 100's of exotic, tropical plants & trees, numerous orange, lemon. lime & pomegranite trees, and topped off with a professionally installed 9-hole putting green, complete with sand bunker and boules court! *NEW for 2025: Indoor/Outdoor Gym with MyRun Treadmill, Concept 2 Rower, SB700 Fitness Bike, 2 sets of adjustable dumbbells (2 x 25kg set + 2 x 41kg set)*

Fabulous property... check in was very thorough. Roy made sure we knew about the full property and gave us information about the local area and restaurants. Kitchen facilities were extensive... plenty of plates/glasses/ mugs etc and every utensil and gadget you can think of. Wifi access was great. We hired a car and found the villa easily...just make sure your satnav doesn't send you down the road with the potholes (ours did but there is a much better route to the property!) The sound system throughout the villa is a real bonus. We had an amazing week and would love to return soon!

Stayed here last summer for 2 weeks as a mixed family party of 8, including a toddler. Property was amazing, really clean, beautiful facilities, with great bedroom options. Kitchen well equipped. Pool area fabulous with great views and fabulous bbq and kitchen area at poolside. Great soft seating and dining options on the patio so differentiated day time to evening dining. Only thing to be aware of it can be breezy so be careful with things blowing away. Incredible stay, definitely recommend and would love to return one day. Thank you to the team

Our two families (4 adults and 4 children) had a fantastic two week stay at La Huerta Vieja. The villa is located in the middle of a valley with breathtaking views of the mountains from the spacious pool. The villa itself has been renovated to a very high standard with the smallest of details thought of throughout. The location of the villa is very good with plenty to do locally albeit you will need a car. The property management was excellent and every small request we made was dealt with promptly. The villa was exceptionally clean and very well equipped with a huge kitchen and great BBQ area. We all highly recommend this villa!

A perfect holiday was had by all during our stay at La Huerta Vieja. En-suite bedroom downstairs with direct access to the patio and pool was ideal for my parents. The wrap around terrace on the first floor allowed the teenagers to find their own space during the day. Pool area was amazing with very comfortable sun loungers and day bed. The multiple outdoor seating areas around the property were fantastic for breakfast, lunch, pre dinner drinks and dinner. We enjoyed picking oranges from the trees and having a fresh juice every morning. The football and golf fanatics in our group enjoyed having access to multiple sport channels. We would highly recommend a stay and will definitely return.

What a fabulous villa with fantastic outdoor space and a great pool. The views from the villa are beautiful although the drive along the roads to the villa are a bit hairy. Consequently we used a local taxi service to restaurants in town. We found Christobal taxis very reliable. We had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend this villa.

Very nice villa with everything you need for a great holiday. We stayed as 3 couples with children and there was plenty of space for everyone. Only suggestion would be to try and get the wifi connection round the pool to be better as the Sonos system regularly loses connection

Stunning Villa with excellent facilities. Pool is fantastic, and also had many on evening enjoying the views from the terrace after bbqs. Off the beaten track, but in many ways that’s a good thing. Very peaceful, and actually not difficult to get to the coast/ beaches, great local Mercadona supermarket and great places to visits like Ronda, Caminito Del Rey, etc. Also some excellent road cycling to be had from the Villa. Kamagabikes.com in Marbella excellent for road and mountain bike hire. Would recommend rides to Mijas and Aloizana.

Was a great place for two weeks. We were a family of 9 and had some beautiful BBQs and sunsets! The pool area is a nice place for relaxing and cooling down! Any problem with the house, was directly solved by the housekeeper. It‘s really recommended to visit that mansion! Thanks to Louisa and John

We stayed in La Huerta VIeja for 6 nights in total. Upon arrival (although we got there late), we were met by Roy who is a lovely person and very willing to help and make your stay special. The property is in a very quaint area of the outskirts of Alhaurin el Grande which was perfect for us. All rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable (including nice mattresses on the beds). The outside areas of this villa are spectacular and there is plenty of outside seating area. The barbecue area is located next to the pool which is very convenient for lunch. All in all a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

It’s the most stunning place and now perfect for even bigger families or groups of friends with the accompanying property, La Casita. Such a beautiful place and close enough to ‘things to do and places to go’ if you fancy it, but also wonderfully secluded if you don’t.

We had a real great/ fantastic holiday at La Huerta Vieja. (september 2018) From the minute we came undtil we should leave, we have enjoyed it. All 10 of us, two parents, the childeren and their partners and their children. We where svimming, playing table tennis and mini golf, have relaxed, read books, made food in the nice kitchen (where everything was, that we needed to make breakfast, lunch and dinner), listened to "our" music from the Sonos speakers and where just having a great time. We didn't want to leave the place, and had only one time dinner in the town. Two of us, where shopping everyday, at the nice supermarket in town, where you could buy everything you needed. You could stay in the sun or find shadow, just what you wanted was possible to find around the house. There are lots of different areas you can choose to be, if you want some time on your own. For us was it the perfect place to have our family holiday :-) and if we take a new family holiday next year, I know hwere it will be: HER ;-) Thanks for "borrowing" your fantastic house to us. I had the pleasure of holidaying in this beautiful villa which is set in such a picturesque location. The villa has been finished to the highest standard, everything has been thought of to give you the most perfect holiday. From lazing around the pool listening to music with the stunning mountain views to a cosy gathering around the log burner in the evening, all I can say is it was perfect. I can not describe the gorgeous smell that you are surrounded by from the orange & lemon groves- out of this world! I would recommend hiring a car to give you the option of visting the local town or travelling a little bit further (only half an hour) to the buzzing centre of Malaga. Thank you John & Louisa, your holiday home is fantastic!

From the moment you arrive, the aroma of the orange blossom fills your senses and immediately transports you to a place of relaxation. The peace and tranquillity of the villa perfectly matches the backdrop of endless country and mountain views. Of a day time, the pool area is fantastic and really private. When nighttime comes, you can either relax on the very comfy patio area with a bottle of local wine or if it’s chilly, head inside to light a fire and snuggle down on the many sofas. The villa is very well equipped and a real home from home. We can’t wait to head back.

The moment the gates opened we were welcomed warmly by Roy, manager of the property. Roy’s team had prepared the villa immaculately, indeed luxury hotel standard. After a tour and chat with Roy we headed up to Alhaurín el Grande and the local supermarket for supplies. Fridge and ‘larder’ stocked we easily settled in to our home for the week. Each room was spacious and has its own spectacular vistas. Air conditioning though out the villa was great for the kids on the hottest days too. The photos describing the property are accurate, but still they just cannot highlight the privacy and seclusion we enjoyed. You really can chill around the pool, pop the tunes on the Sonos and soak up the views of the Sierra de Mijas. Added bonus was the Golden Eagle soaring high above the valley. Our party consisted of four adults and two children. After asking the kids what their favourite part of the holiday was there were memorable answers…. Logan (5 ½ years) – “Pool party, golf, table tennis, tennis and football with Daddy.” Yes, he’s a sporty lad. Florence (3 ½ years) – “Mermaid Bay!” Which translates to the semi-circle shallow part of the pool Florence ruled for the week. We would recommend a hire car at the ready. It’s a nice trip up to town for an ice cream in the afternoon, Heladería "La Chacha", top up supplies or to head out for dinner in the evening. The owners sent us a great recommendation list when we booked. We’ll be booking again without doubt. I’ll also be talking to the cycling club to use as a base for the next Malaga-Andalucía trip as the mountain routes are spectacular and challenging. #britishcycling #HomeAway #rspb

Had another fabulous time at the villa! Our second stay! This time joined by another family and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time😁 the kids love the pool, the netflix, the wifi, the sonos system, the ping pong, the list goes on! We visited malaga, fungerola , mijas, the lakes, alhaurin de grande, Ronda! We had Barbeques at the villa and chilled also. Best of both worlds! 😎😁👍

A lovely spacious family villa with beautiful surroundings, the smell of the orange groves was divine. The pool was so tempting too. Although the villa is in a rural location it’s very close to local amenities also only a 20 minute drive to Malaga. I had a fabulous time there.

When we (Family of 10) arrived at the Villa and the gates opened we couldn't believe how amazing the villa looked with so much space, and great views of the mountains. Plus it had plenty of places for everyone to find there own little spot to sit and chill. The Villa had everything you could want for a perfect relaxing holiday, we all loved sitting by the pool and enjoyed the BBQ area most nights. I made the mistake of not hiring a car so would recommend getting one for a few days as the Supermarkets are around a 10 minute drive away. The Weather was great and we couldn't have asked for a better Holiday and have no negative comments to make, so many thanks to John the Owner, the whole family loved it.

We shared the villa with our Canadian relatives, there were 3 couples, but ample space for us all. We spent our time there, in and out of the lovely pool, playing table tennis and enjoying drinks and lovely food cooked on the barbe-cue.There was a susperb choice of sunbeds loungers and even a couple of hammocks to soak up the rays. With fantastic entertainment inside, we could watch, tv, films and listen to our favourite music in the evenings. With the town only a 10 minute drive away we were never short of supplies or restaurants and bars. The villa is also ideally situated for day trips. With Gibraltar less than 2 hours away by car we spent a day there with very excited Canadians. We also took in the sights and charm of Mijas and Puerto Benus and the resorts of Benalmadena and Torremolinas.However the favourite part of our stay was relaxing in peace and quiet by the pool with cold drinks and warm sunshine.Just heaven! This is a beautiful villa in a very private country location . We loved the silent times of day. Waking in the morning to the wonderful views. Everything is as described so no disappointments. Quality furnishings, good beds, well equipped. Everything you could want. We loved every day and would highly recommend it for couples or families. Worth mentioning, if you want to explore the area car hire is essential. Excellent outdoor BBQ area and pool we used it a lot, only ate out occasionally.

WOW,! We had a wonderful time at the villa, great location just a short taxi to the centre of Alhurin El Grande with its bustling bars and restaurants. Very well catered for in terms of amenities, big swimming pool, table tennis, pitch and put , many sun beds and hammocks and huge BBQ outside. Inside each bedroom had a view and most had access to large balcony, good AC and en suites and bathrooms. Well catered for kitchen, all IT mod cons, we can't wait to return! Many thanks!

Stunning villa! Everything we were looking for in a villa! Very clean, everything top notch and totally secure. Electric gates to enter and fenced all around so totally secure for the children! Shutters ond doors and windows which were very re assuring and alarmed! Plenty of towels and also beach towels, saved on the extra kg on the flight! Sonos surround sound system, just down load the app so easy and it was great! Netflix and dvd player for the children they were in their glory! Plus the table tennis,swimming pool and golf! Totally fantastic holiday in a stunning villa and have already pre-booked for next year 👍 Great communication with John and the management Danny who we didnt need to contact because everything was just great but he was on call if we needed him! Fab holiday and looking forward to next yr!! 👍😊
