I was very well looked after by the wonderfully warm family who have recently taken over running Esquina Lejana. They do everything with love and made me feel so at home that I returned several weeks later. This stay is unbelievable value for money, with breakfast included and use of the kitchen. Its just outside Palomino in the authentically Colombian neighbourhood Marquetalia, where people are really friendly and you escape the tourist trap noise of central Palomino.
It is good to be aware that the family took on the hotel in a run-down state, so some aspects are under improvement. I am guessing this is why a private room and bathroom are so cheap, so for me this was a reasonable trade-off. Maria and Sofie were working day and night painting and fixing things and transformed the place during tje short time I was there, with exciting plans for a larger kitchen, lounge area and vegetable garden. Still, it is already a charming and homely place.

Ich liebe diese Unterkunft! Ich war schon im August eine Woche hier. Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit und es ist sehr schön! Tolle Zimmer und tolles Frühstück! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Es un lugar increíble! Me encantó la naturaleza al rededor, la tranquilidad, la atención de Jackson que es una persona maravillosa, la compañía de las perritas Lila y Doris y las gatitas. El desayuno también fue muy rico! Es cerca de Palomino, caminando me demoré unos 15 min. La playa Tropical es 30 minutos caminando.
Es triste ver ese lugar tan bonito sin inversión en mantenimiento.. hay que arreglar muchas cosas, pero parece que no quieren invertir ni un peso.

Jackson is a super nice guy and he tried to make everything as good as possible.
the hut was not the one I booked. the bathroom was really poor and not functioning.
