Villa "Garden of Sicily"

Beautiful property. Great pool, and a short walk to the beach. Helpful hostess. She arranged for Maria. to cook two delicious meals for us. One caution. You must pay for utilities. Watch your water consumption. It's expensive.

The perfect place to stay at if you are seeking a relaxing and quiet holiday. The villa is surrounded by a charming garden giving privacy and security. The back is full of olive trees, while the front has a lush and beautifully manicured garden with all types of trees & greenery, making the outdoors comfortable and breezy even on the hottest days. The pool is an absolute joy (the kids had a blast); large, 3-meters deep at one end, clean and refreshing and had pool loungers, covered seating areas, pool dinning, etc. A sublime sandy beach is only 3 minute walk accessible via a path over a few sand dunes (a bit challenging for individuals with mobility issues - my old parents where not able to reach the beach). The property hostess is a SUPER hostess, nice and friendly. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable, arranged for cleaners (chef if we wanted), airport transport, restaurant advise & even brought us some goodies to sample. Tips: The property is the countryside; so a car is needed to get essentials and get around. Areas on Island have a mosquito problem; the property has a system that sprays insect/ repellent, however, we needed to use our own insect repellent for extra protection. Also need to be extra mindful with electricity and water use during stay in villa as water is very expensive in this part of the world (our bill was high). As the owner puts it "Water is more expensive than Champagne".

The house is by far the most beautiful in the entire area. Fully walled-off for total privacy, one enters through an impressive automated iron gates, into a huge, lush and amazingly manicured garden (maintained by a gardener, daily). A true paradise-like oasis with mature Mediterranean trees, palms, decorative cactus area shrubbery and colorful flowers everywhere. The pool is oversized and luxurious. It features a waterfall, large jacuzzi area with artistic mosaic bottom, floaters, and elaborate lighting throughout. It is surrounded by comfortable loungers and several outdoor living areas, scattered throughout the garden, one more appealing than the other. A “piece de resistance” is a screened-off outdoor “salon,” surrounded by water feature, with beautiful planters, luxury rattan chaises for 12, and flowers. The pictures don’t give justice to the property as it is far more beautiful, more colorful and more comfortable, in reality. The house is a traditional Sicilian old stone estate, which was expanded and renovated to include a larger living/dining space, more bedrooms and a spacious covered terrace off the master bedroom, all with new conveniences for a comfortable stay. The location is in a countryside with just several other summer houses nearby. It is extremely quiet and just steps from the expansive, clean, “private” sandy beach. The owner is most charming, friendly, but totally un-intrusive, and extremely accommodating. Every single of our requests was responded immediately, and/or fixed within hours! This includes, among many other things, arranging for a private chef, another most charming local lady, who prepared a real Sicilian home-made, seven-course feast for our group of 10, all with the most flavorful and fresh produce, fish, meats, pasta and other tasty ingredients. Everything was just perfect during our entire 10-day stay, thanks to the beauty of the property and its scenery, as well as its friendly owner. Even the weather couldn’t be better! We highly recommend this delightful villa to everyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in a stunning setting, near the pristine private beach. We have no words to express how much we enjoyed our stay. We only wish it lasted longer!
