Lack of communication and the host’s behaviour made the stay unacceptable.

We booked this accommodation for one night in January 2026 for me and my 6-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely stressful and felt unsafe due to very poor communication and unacceptable customer service. We arrived in Rovaniemi around 6 pm in the dark and in -18°C. The host message instructed us to pick up the keys at office in Korkalonkatu 36, but it was not clearly communicated before booking that the key pickup location and the apartment are on opposite sides of Rovaniemi (with the city centre in between). There was no office named Arctic Studio in address given. I had messaged the host earlier in the afternoon with a question but received no reply. We also did not receive the PIN code for the key box anywhere, so even if we had found the correct location earlier, we still could not have accessed the keys. After almost two hours of driving around and trying to find a solution, I finally reached the host by phone. I was understandably frustrated (and it probably could be heard in my voice), but I did not shout. The host accused me of raising my voice, told us to “go stay somewhere else”, and hung up. After that, he did not respond to calls or messages. This was extremely distressing during peak season in Rovaniemi, especially with a small child waiting in the car. We only got access to the keys thanks to a kind employee from another business at the key location. Without their help, we would not have been able to enter at all. The apartment itself was reasonably clean, but it was not quiet: noise from a neighbouring apartment started around 6 am, and clear renovation/grinding sounds began around 8 am. Also, the WiFi password in the Booking message appeared hidden, and there were no clear additional instructions inside the apartment.

Waste of time and money

The property was very cosy and warm and thanks they keep the heater on.bed was good. hot water.

First time picking a key from one side and property on the other side this is the most terrible thing ,which is not mentioned in ads which is quite misleading. 2nd no communication or courtesy to message back when we message about the check out system and where to keep the key. 3rd again we had to walk about 30min to leave the key from where we picked that also after we spoke to booking.com customer service. No complimentary tea or coffee sachets,which every one provide.suggestion to keep one microwave rather than a big coffee machine. Please mention in ads that pick keys from different places and accommodation in different place.It is frustrating and wasting of time to go here and there as we come for limited time. Thank you

Not a bad spot and pretty quiet building which is nice.

Key pick up location was not near the accommodation so double taxi and wasn't ready at 4pm when it was supposed to be. Wouldn't say it was cheap or impressive on ant level.

Key collection is a bad system

My bad score goes because the problem to get the key for check in, uber to the key place from airport 25 euros plus 12 euros from key to house.... not a clue why they do that way....

Cozy and clean apartment

The apartment was spacious, clean, and cozy. Picking up the keys was easy and quick. The location was central, albeit different from the one shown on booking.

It was a different apartment from the one shown in the photos, which was not a problem since the apartment was great, but it was kind of confusing upon arrival. Instead of a double bed, we had two single beds put together, which was a bit inconvenient.

Nice location but poor service & communication

Nice location, clean. Small kitchen and refrigurator.

Too hot and the AC (if it existed) did not work. The host did not answer questions related to bike cleaning and temperature / AC. The host was late to answer question about parking. When they finally answered they said that parking was not available even though the Booking.com listing said «private parking». After sending the host an SMS about parking since they did not answer on Booking’s messaging platform, they replied that the parking was full and I had to find a parking spot on my own. I came 0030 and it was not easy to find a public parking spot since all roads had «parking forbidden» signs. It was stressful to search for a parking spot in the middle of the night after having driven all day.

Avoid at all cost

Big Tv.

No communications, Rude Manager, poor instructions to collect keys, was sent here and there. No parking when parking was offered with the apartment. The apartment block is occupied by permanent residents who are not keen or helpful to Airbnb guest.

Except of parking and communication was good

Apartment is small, but very nice. Everything was clean, basic kitchen with good equipment. Smart TV,

Weak WIFI, get keys in other adress was a bit complicated, parking was big problem as around appartment is not possible to free or any other parking. Had to find place 10min walk, so that was a bit anoying. Also communication with owner was very limited, and they werent even possible to recommned place to park.

It was a nice room, everything was available; washing machine, kitchen was good, smart tv available and a nice view

The room wasn’t cleaned, bed wasn’t made, bathroom wasn’t cleaned. I send the owner a message but they never replied to me. Had to wash the bedsheets myself?! The keys of the previous guests were still there on the table

Lief leider sehr chaotisch!

Es war sauber. Liegt in einer ruhigen Wohnstaße außerhalb des Stadtzentrums.

Pin für die Schlüsselbox wurde erst am Anreisetag nach 15 Uhr mitgeteilt - da hatte ich kein Wlan mehr. Ich bin zum Vermieter hingelaufen. Dieser ist 30 Minuten zu Fuß vom Appartment entfernt, was bei der Buchung nicht ersichtlich ist - nicht schlimm, wenn man ein Auto hätte. Der Schlüssel war wohl nicht in der Box sondern ich bekam einen Ersatzschlüssel aus dem Büro. Den gesuchten Schlüssel fand ich in dem Türbriefkasten des Appartments durch Zufall - jeder hätte nachts den Schlüssel holen können und Zugang zum Appartment gehabt. Zugesichertes Wlan war weder der zutreffende Name des Zugangs auf Finnisch mitgeteilt worden noch das Wlanpasswort. Letzteres bekam ich erst nach der 2. Nachfrage um 21:28 per Mail und konnte es nicht mehr ausprobieren - statt dessen musste ich über Roaming ins Internet. Allgemeine Infos zum Appartment wie Wlan, Informationen zur Mülltrennung (die es wohl gibt) oder wo man den Schlüssel bei Abreise lassen soll gehören in ein Infoblatt auf den Tisch im Appartment.

Non affidabile

La camera è sicuramente ampia e spaziosa, letto comodo, frigo, lavastoviglie, bollitore e tostapane. Cuscini troppo sottili, inesistenti, ma impossibile scrivere al proprietario per chiederne altri perché non risponde. Al momento della prenotazione ci siamo lasciati convincere soprattutto per il parcheggio privato, ma abbiamo scoperto solo 2 giorni prima di arrivare che non era disponibile. Il primo parcheggio utile a pagamento è a 1km di distanza a piedi, al prezzo di 2€/h. Asciugamani puliti, elettrodomestici funzionanti anche se sporchi. Mi era stato detto che non avrei trovato un asciugacapelli, dunque l'ho messo in valigia, inutilmente perché era presente in bagno. Che senso ha avuto dirmi di no? La posizione dell'appartamento non è centralissima, c'è una fermata di bus vicino ma noi avevamo l'auto a noleggio quindi non saprei suggerire l'utilità dei bus.

Inesistenza di contatto con il personale, le indicazioni per il luogo di ritiro della chiave sono poco chiare e soprattutto molto lontane dall'appartamento. NON FORNISCONO POSTO AUTO, nonostante l'annuncio lo riportava al momento della prenotazione!

Asunnosta voisi useammin pyyhkiä pölyjä, kahvinkeitin oli paksun pölyn peitossa, myös matto oli melko tahrainen. Yhteydenpito oli melko haastavaa. Kokovartalopeili olisi käytännöllinen.

Apartamento é ótimo, mto bem equipado, tem uma vista linda com neve, 1km do centro. Silencioso. Máquina de lavar, piso aquecido, top. Perfeito pra casal

Só tive o problema que aqui na booking estava chaves no local, daí fui pro local e demorei 2hs no frio até descobrir que a chave estava em outro lugar a uns 4km. 4 da tarde lá é noite e estava muito frio. Tinha me enviado um email com o endereço mas no meu país não usamos muito o email, achei que as informações na booking bastassem. Foi meu único problema com essa estadia.

Jedino dobro kod ovog objekta je lokacija,stvarno je na ok mjestu,20ak minuta lagane setnje do centra.

1.KOMUNIKACIJA SA VLASNIKOM Od njega samo dobijete 1 poruku prilikom rezervacije koja ne sadrzi skoro pa nikakve informacije.Ne odgovara na pozive i poruke(doslovno prolaznike sa Finskim brojem smo molili da ga nazove i tada je se jedan jedini put javio) Zamolili smo za raniji check in zbog leta(nije moguce prije 4) Dodjes u 4(jos kasni ne mozemo uc) S tim da adresa za kljuceve uopce nije na istoj adresi kao stan(sto uopce nije naglasio)pa lagano lomis noge po ledu sa koferima. 2. PRLJAV STAN Samo cu navest jednu stvar da ne moram ostalo,u kuhalu za vodu je bilo nesto poput mrtvog stakora(ne mozete ni zamislit kako sam povratila nakon kave),na odlasku kad su dosli cistaci odmah sam se ogradila i rekla da samo otvore kuhalo,slošilo se i njima,zao mi je sto nisam uslikala al nakon onakvog smrada nisam se priblizavala kuhinji. Pola aparata ne radi,takodjer jastuci su stari oko 20godina jer ti glava jednostavno propane kroz njega koliko je izlizan.

Sijainti hyvä, uudehko asunto. Erittäin rauhallinen talo, kohteliaat naapurit. Sisustus moderni. Sänky hyvä nukkua. Astioita tarpeeksi omaan tarpeeseen. Näppärän kokoinen pikku kämppä.

Asunnon oleskelutilassa epämiellyttävä (likainen?) haju. Tuulettamalla lieveni hieman. Autolle joutui etsimään kauempaa paikkaa yön yli säilytykseen.

Oikein toimiva kokonaisuus

Erittäin siistiä ja rauhallista, tiskikoneesta plussaa ja hissistä. Parkkipaikkaa pihasta ei löytynyt, mutta kadun varteen sai parkattua ihan lähelle. K-Market muutaman minuutin kävelymatkan päässä, josta sai haettua aamupalatarpeet.

Sisustus melko vaatimaton ja yksinkertainen.

Asunto oli siisti ja vastasi kuvausta. Tilaakin oli aivan riittävästi ja sisustuksen taso hyvä.

En ymmärtänyt että autopaikasta pitäisi maksaa. Vaihtoehdoksi mainitaan tosin katuparkkeeraus, mutta yli kilometrin säteellä ei sellainen ole mahdollista, edes maksua vastaan. Suosittelen siis kaikkia maksamaan tuon 14 euroa autopaikasta, jos vain on liikkeellä autolla.

Hyvät tilat, mukava sänky.

Huone oli siivoamaton, siellä oli juuri oltu ilmeisesti lemmenpuuhissa, koska sänky, suihku ja pyyhe oli käytetty. Löysimme myös kondomin. Tästä syystä tuli hieman nuhjuinen vaikutelma. Soitimme oitis saavuttuamme yhteysnumeroon ja saimme siivouksen paikalle. Asia siis hoitui kyllä.

Oikein siisti ja hyvin varusteltu yksiö. Ihanat pesulatason pyyhkeet ja lakanat, kuuluivat hintaan. Pesukone, tiskikone ja mikro/uuni helpottivat oleskelua. K-kauppa lähes vieressä ja S-kauppakin lähellä Ylikylän suuntaan. Tästä oli helppo liikkua eri suuntiin. Käytännössä suora tie keskustan kävelykadulle. Kiva juttu, että loppusiivous kuului hintaan.

Muutama astia olisi voinut olla enemmän. Ehkä salaattikulho, paistolasta, enemmän mukeja ja mikrokupu. Paremmat tyynyt tai pari lisätyynyä olisi tarpeen. Yhteydenpito ennen varauksen alkamista oli hidasta. Pakkaamiseen toivoin etukäteen varmistusta, että kuuluko liinavaatteet hintaan vai ei, sekä loppusiivouksen kulut kiinnosti etukäteen. Näihin sain Booking.comin kautta kannanoton sekä viime hetkellä sen jälkeen myös majoittajalta.

Sijainti oli hyvä ja uudehkontuntuinen kerrostalo. Kompakti asunto.

Avainboksi oli turhan kaukana. Autopaikka jäi hieman mysteeriksi eikä kysymysviestiin vastattu. Sain onneksi käytettyä vieraspaikkaa sen hetken mitä tarvitsin. Asunto oli kuuma eikä ilmastointiin ollut ohjetta. Lisäksi asunnossa ei ollut sälekaihtimia eikä pimennysverhoja, joten yövuorolaisena ei nukkuminen onnistunut ollenkaan. Olin varannut kaksi yötä, mutta lähdin jo ensimmäisen yön jälkeen.
