Thet building is situated in the centre of Monticiano, a village near Siena. In the centre of this village you can find the Post Office, the pharmacy, some markets. Location and utilities: pizzeria, restaurants and a stok of wintage wines. Places of interest: The Abbey of St. Galgano and the Chapel of Montesiepi (or Chapel of the Sward in the Stone) are 6 Km far from it. You can visit warm springs at Petriolo (15 Km) and the Warms of Galleraie (26 km). You can easily reach Siena (30 minutes by car) Massa Marittima (40 minutes) San Gimignano (50 minutes) Florence and Pienza (1 hour) or the coast. A bus service connects Monticiano to Siena, Massa Marittima, Grosseto and Follonica. Recreation: You can have wonderful walks in the oak groves and chestnut woods or along clear streams which surround Monticiano and look for chestnuts and mushrooms. You can even watch hares, deer, wild boars and pheasants and go hunting with some local hunters. There is a reserved car park or you can ask for parking in a garage.

The accommodation was spacious and had most domestic facilities provided. It does not have air conditioning however, and as the temperatures reached 40 degrees C, a fan or two would have been welcome. It is also in a busy residential corner, which means that there is quite a lot of noise from surrounding traffic, neighbours, church bells etc. but the ambience was comfortable.
