What a cute hidden gem in a gorgeous sleepy village. This property has everything you need. The village itself is very quiet, but a large town with hypermarkets is only a 10 min drive away. We enjoyed walking around the village park in the evenings. The house has 3 generous sized bedrooms, a large modern shower and superfast internet. We thank the hosts for a trouble and hassle free stay.

We loved our stay in the Gy en Sologne. The house is in the center of a pretty village close to the castles in the area. Clean and well maintained. It had all a family like ours (4 kids) needs, including toys and a baby bed. Stoyan

We spent two weeks in this well equipped, comfortable holiday house in a very quiet and unspoilt country village. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. There is no garden but there is a patio with roll out awning. It was so hot while we were there we hardly sat out on it. Great area for cycling & trying to learn French - no English spoken but nevertheless kind people all around.

A very well equipped little house that worked as a good base for our week’s exploration of the Sologne area. Several well known and lesser known chateaux are within easy driving distance, and there are some nice cycling or walking tracks nearby, too. The weather was very changeable during our stay, so we appreciated both the central heating and wood burner plus the patio and sun awning. Wifi would have been good, but we were able to make use of the wifi in the friendly cafe next door while we had a coffee or aperitif.

Delightful cottage in a quiet location.

Whilst the cottage was really nice I have to make a number of comments from a personal view point. 1) the welcome pack was written only in French and I feel it would be beneficial to have a translation in 2/3 languages. 2) All of the cupboards were full of crockery and no space left to store groceries. 3) A list of closest shops/supermarkets/service stations/restaurants etc would be helpful. Also a mention of days when shops are closed. 4) A list of places of interest would be nice along with local markets. 5) A contact number in case of.emergencies.(Had I not specifically asked for a contact number in the event of our late arrival we should not have been able to gain entry to the property as it was secured and the information as to the location of the keys had not been given to me). The majority of these points are what would go toward making the stay a little more pleasurable.

We had a very nice week-end in this beautiful cottage. Comfortable rooms, nice big shower which is truly awesome after a long day of walking. The house was very clean and has everything you need to cook, rest or occupy children (books, games, tv, dvd player ...) The owners are very kinds and you'll see by all the little attentions left for you all around that they cared for their guests.

We really enjoyed our trip to the Loire Valley, the area is really in the countryside and lovely and peaceful. The cottage was clean, well equipped and roomy. We had some good trips out to Blois (the Chateau is really nice) and the town had some good shops, Clos Luce Parc (which is where Leonardo da Vinci lived), this was very popular with school trips etc. and is well worth a visit, as was Orleans (for shops etc.). We had a good day out also at the Zoo Parc de Beauval, not cheap but well worth it. We used the bikes to cycle to Billy (down the road) and also played table tennis in the garage. Thanks to Gillian and Stuart for their instructions to get to the property from Calais, we didn't get lost once ;-) We went to a local restaurant in Lassay sur Croisne which Gillian recommended and had a lovely meal. We had a couple of really nice walks down by the canal which is signposted as Pont de Sauldre. Thank you again for the use of your lovely house in such a lovely peaceful area.

We have visited this property on two occassions, both times during the Easter Vacation. The cottage was exactly as listed with 3 spacious bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, an ample dining area and comfortable lounge area with a beautiful log burning stove. The cottage was clean and homely with all mod cons necessary for a stay of any length. The courtyard at the back of the property provides ample parking and a secure and secluded sitting area for when the sun shines and it becomes a sun trap. The owners give excellent customer service. They provided clear directions from Calais which helped us to avoid over expensive toll roads. The cottage has a wonderful homely feel created by the little personal touches (the alarm clock in the main bedroom is fascinating) and they have provided lots of information to help with planning days out etc. The local bakery has wonderful croissants and rolls all baked fresh each day and is open from about 7am. The bar / restaurant right next door is well worth a visit or two - for a local beer in friendly surroundings and the plat du jour is an absolute must! Four courses of local produce and lots of local wine for an extremely fair price. The immediate area is great for walking with interesting woods to explore and little villages to discover. Towns within a 5 mile radius provide ample dining opportunities ranging from pizza to fine dining. Parking is available and directions are easy to follow. We visited lots of Chateau's all within 90 minutes drive of the cottage. Blois was a big favourite but Chenonceau, Ambois and Cheverny are well worth a visit. A great day out is a trip to Beauval Zoo which is well sign posted and less than 45 mins drive away. It is a wonderful place with animals from all over the world, all looking happy and well cared for. We would, and have, recommended this cottage to friends and we look forward to visiting it ourselves in future.
