About this house rental

Former 18th century dovecote located in the Vosges plain, near the spa towns of Vittel, Contrexéville and Bourbonne les Bains. The house has been completely renovated and is located in a large property surrounded by nature with horses. Favorable for calm and relaxation, perfect stay for walks; mountain biking, mushroom picking.
Ideal stay for lovers of old stones and nature.
Close to the spa towns of Vittel and Contrexéville (cinemas, thalassotherapy, golf, tennis ...). In July and August, the rental is available only by the week.(except last minute availability!) Pets are not accepted. The room is air conditioned. Bikes are available.

The cottage is perfect for relaxing and resting. It is beautifully decorated with taste and quality, it's very well equipped and very comfortable. The only improvements I could possibly suggest are new pillows on the bed (they are a little thin and worn) and perhaps WiFi, although the phone signal is good. The area is very quiet and charming, although the property is a good way away from the larger towns of Dijon and Besancon, which limits the amount of sightseeing available. However, it is perfect for unwinding, it's exquisite and we had a very enjoyable stay in such a lovely place. Stephanie could not have been a better host and she was very helpful, charming and friendly. There is a lovely terrace under the shade of a hazelnut tree, and the property overlooks hills and farmland. Horses munch in the field opposite and there are chickens, rabbits, swallows and even a friendly cat! The shower is excellent and there is always plenty of hot water. Highly recommended for a truly relaxing break.

The small cottage has exactly the right size for a nice relaxing time for two. The hostess has furnished the house with great attention to detail and nothing is missing. The check-in was totally uncomplicated, as was the check-out. Stephanie was on vacation herself at that time, so we just locked the door and threw the key into the mailbox of the main house. Thanks for that. There is everything you need, we enjoyed sitting on the terrace and just watching the horses graze, catching the swallow flying, turning the farmer over the grass and the tame rabbit hoping around on the meadow. It's very quiet and lonely there, just what you need to recharge your batteries on holiday. In the bedroom under the roof there is air conditioning, which was very good, because it was very hot at that time. In the living room underneath, you don't need air conditioning, because the old stone walls from 1767 kept the heat well outside. The bathroom with ground level shower is big enough for two. And the kitchen is also big enough for 2, you can cook well. Everything is there and there is an electric grill which works very well. That was a very successful stay. Gladly again.

Wonderful cottage in the country

If you are looking for peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings this cottage is ideal. It is tastefully decorated, beautifully furnished and has a lovely outside area where we enjoyed dining al fresco, reading and watching the hens, rabbits and horses in the field. Nearby there are plenty of walks and the spa town of Vittel is worth visiting. For grocery shopping you will find all you need in Monthureux sur Saone. Highly recommended.

It's a perfect setting, really quite and beautiful sunsets! The only reason for not giving five out of five stars is that I'm 1m90 and bumped my head a couple of times (some doors are not that high :-) ). The other reason is that there was a problem with the water temperature of the shower during our stay. The owner tried to fix it but had to order a new part for the shower. They did give us a bottle of champagne as compensation! :-) Overall a very good stay! Kim & Carolien

This property is excellent! You must book it and experience the French countryside in a wonderful, updated house. Stephanie’s description and pictures on VRBO were exactly as delivered! We chose this property as a mid-point rest stop as we drove from Luxembourg to Switzerland – we stayed two days and could have stayed for many more. We had not visited this part of France and were very impressed with its quiet beauty – rolling hills, friendly people, working farms and roosters crowing at morning light. We were there in late September 2017 – the weather was very good, early autumn, with clouds and sun. The house is well updated with a very functional kitchen, which we used many times. All furnishings were comfortable, including the bed in the upstairs room. Easy and close access to small towns all around – including local butchers, bakeries and convenience stores. Stephanie was a wonderful host and answered many questions on the spot. If you want a quiet French countryside getaway – choose to stay here – you will be very happy you did! We will return! We spent four nights in this cute, little house which is very well equipped. Everything is new and clean. There's a huge garden around the house and it is very calm. You can go for walks right behind the house. The town is small, but there are all shops you need. Stéphanie Thiebaut is a great host. All in all we enjoyed our stay a lot.

In dem wunderschönen "Taubenschlag" haben wir uns gleich wohl gefühlt! Wir haben die Tage dort genossen, waren viel in den umliegenden Wäldern wandern und haben nachmittags in der Herbstsonne auf der Terrasse in den Liegestühlen gelegen - mit einmaligem Ausblick auf die Pferdewiese und über das weite Land. Vielen Dank nochmal an die freundliche Vermieterin!

Cette petite maison est très bien équipée, confortable et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Des randonnées et des parcours cyclistes sont accessibles devant la propriété. A réserver les yeux fermés.

Le pigeonnier est conforme au descriptif de l'annonce, fonctionnel et d'une propreté irréprochable, rénovation de qualité, belle décoration, . Nous avons reçu un très bon accueil de Stéphanie qui est attentive au bien être de ses hôtes tout en étant discrète. Le gite est idéalement situé pour les amateurs de détente et de verdure ,vue sur les prairies, avec un peu de chance vous verrez à la fin de la journée les chevreuils se balader à l'orée du bois. IL y a de nombreux sentiers pour les balades La région vous offre de nombreuses visites d'artisans ( vannerie, coutellerie, cristallerie...) Nous reviendrons avec plaisir
