Very nice food (including fresh fish provided directly by local fishermen) and very friendly and helpful staff.

If you don’t like sharing your stay in common areas with other western tourists, then choose a different hotel.

It is a beautiful hotel and the grounds are very comfortable. Literally beachfront. The staff are very polite, always smiling, attentive. You get a sense they're a real team who enjoy working there. The food is fantastic and I'm not someone who is 'a foodie'. I eat to live rather than live to eat but the food here was wonderful The owner/chef also had a conversation with me as I was checking out, he is very approachable and you can tell he really cares about his business and his guest experience.

At a push... - I asked for room service and the waitress said they don't do it (despite a laminated advert for room service in my room). Not a big deal, the restaurant is a few yards from the rooms. - no WiFi in the rooms but again, it's not really a hardship to sit beachfront whilst checking messages! - water pressure was so so but that's being very picky. I guess if people are expecting the standards of Europe or the US this might be an issue but showering is still perfectly fine and not really an issue

Professionally run hotel resort with great staff right on the beach. Great food and rooms. Enjoyed my stay and wish I'd stayed longer

The beach has many very persistent vendors that are like a rash that won't ho away. This does not by anyway affect the relaxed feeling of the hotel itself. The hotel grounds are secure .

Tropical paradise neatly cured by an amazing, cheerful and welcoming staff, great restaurant.

I will try to be as fair as possible and I apologise in advance for the lengthy comment, but it has to be addressed: The harassment by vendors in the area surrounding Bella Donna Hotel is insane and out of hand. Yes, as a western traveller I am in a super privileged position and that is not my merit, it is because of pure luck in the birth lottery. I understand the tough reality of life for the local population and I deeply respect and admire their strength and endurance in making a living. I can only imagine the cruelty of having to watch these white people every day who apparently have infinite wealth and no cares in life at all. But. I don't just stay in fancy resorts, I always go where the locals are, use public transportation and shop with the people who don't work in tourism, talk to them, try to understand their reality. In over 20 years of visiting places like the Philippines, Zambia, Cuba, Indonesia, Vietnam, Zimbabwe and such, it never happened that I got DEPRESSED and was actually afraid to leave the room.
