“The Old Customs House” has an unforgettable view overlooking the mouth of the Gironde into the Atlantic Ocean.
This prominent 1930’s house is truly in an unforgettable magnificent panoramic position situated on the edge of the outstanding peninsula village of “Talmont sur Gironde”, classified as “One of France’s most beautiful villages”. You can watch and hear the tide rolling in and out from the kitchen, lounge, bedroom and of course outside on the balcony, terrace and in the garden. At high tide you are only meters away from the water. You really might feel as if you are on a ship on the sea. The house was built on the foundations of the former “Customs House”, therefore, giving title to its present name.
For your holiday pleasure we have just finished renovating a 2 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor with splendid views overlooking the water .We have used only quality products to provide the comfort and style this magnificent house deserves.
Inside you will find a large comfortable living room, fully equipped beautiful built in kitchen-dinning room, 2 double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom or shower room and separate WC, separate laundry room, as well as 2 separate entries on to the terrace and then down to the walled in garden. French TV and DVD Player. There is private parking.
The apartment provides the perfect view for JUST watching. There are many species of wildlife who visit the nature reserve of the white cliffs and the bay just outside the windows and balcony.

This is a wonderful place with truly unique views. We loved it!The apartment has everything you need in terms of equipment, including outdoor chairs, a parasol, etc.There is also a large garden available for use.Meschers-sur-Gironde is close by for swimming, and Royan is a hidden gem for both city visits and swimming.Valerie and John (and Ray) are great hosts – thank you so much for the welcome present!

Property was very clean, a good size, and beautiful views across the water. Host Valerie made sure we had everything to enjoy our stay. Talemont is a very pretty old town, and we liked wandering around the narrow streets. We found access by car a little difficult due to the narrowness of the streets, but there was use of a private car park a few hundred yards away. Recommended, we had a lovely time, thanks!

The location and, above all, the daily view of the bay and the tides is so fantastic that we didn't want to go home at all.
The communication with Valerie and John, a very impressive personality, was always pleasant.
We would also like to mention that the flat is perfectly equipped. There is really nothing that you miss and the furnishings convey a cosy feeling right from the start.
All in all, a great recommendation!

We had an amazing 10 days in the best holiday accomadation weve ever stayed in. The property itself was spotless with all all you needed for a relaxing break. The views were to die for in this little piece of paradise. The Old Customs House is sutuated in a lovely little village where you could shop and eat if you just wanted a lazy day. Some amazing coastal walks for the more energetic.
