El Pirguan is a beautiful place and you will definitely have a good and relaxing time here. The house has everything you need. In and around Tazo are plenty of opportunities for hiking.
We had booked for 4 weeks, but decided to leave earlier. The access road was the bottleneck for us: after following a narrow mountain road for about 25 minutes, the road turns into an even narrower 'dirt road' that has a lot of height difference, and in one place also goes over a narrow ridge. The situation requires a powerful car and an experienced cool-headed driver. Driving in the dark and after a rainstorm was a no go for us. And if you then reach the first real shop after 40 minutes, it is definitely something to consider. We would have preferred to know this situation in advance. If you like peace and quiet, enjoy driving on mountain roads and being detached from everything, you will have a great time.

This nice place is very nicely decorated and offers a great view on the valley and the sea. The Palm trees and other plants are a real added value to the live in El Pirguan. The hostess was very friendly and on hands for any information. Some basic food (to start) and a welcome wine are provided which makes you feel welcome. The house, not very big, but very cosy, is of a high standard. The terrace offers great views and nice sunsets !
You need a good car and a good driver to get to the place. Once you have these it is a nice adventure and you can enjoy the roads to the remote place, called Tazo.

This place is a gem. In our modern and overcrowded world, places like this are getting harder and harder to find. So, if you like remote places situated in epic landscapes, this place ticks all the boxes. You will find everting you need at the house and can start on a couple of nice tracks right from your doorstep. Even just a walk through the little village is already a treat. There are no cars, no traffic, just palm trees and a few other houses scattered over the little valley and the whole place has a relaxed laid back feel to it.
But don't expect any shops or cafés. This is about as remote as it gets on La Gomera. In winter, it can get a bit chilly and windy up there, and you always have to cross the patio if you want to go from one room to the other. Also, and you won't be able to use that amazing terrace a lot during that time. Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty at times, which is not surprising regarding the remoteness of the location, and the place could definitely use a pair of sun chairs and a barbecue grill.

Very nice house, top clean, with a wonderful view. A garden with Mango trees, wine and citrus trees. surrounded by the typical palm trees of the village. The kitchen makes fun to cook. Very nice welcome and perfect communication. The village Tazo is one of the oldest in la Gomera, founded in the 15th century. If you like to combine hiking and swimming it is a perfect start up to the hills but also to the beaches of Alojera, Arguamul. (wonderfull hidden track by the Barranco to the playa del Trigo) If you are searching for quiet, relaxing days this house would be perfect. Think we will come back. January 2019
everything was fine! But please be aware there is no supermarket in the village Tazo, so you have to organize yourself a bit, but this will be easy in Vallehermoso, or 2 restaurants in the neighbour villages. This is a very common situation in La Gomera andin one way it helps to overthink our usual behaviour in our busy cities where we can get everything at everytime. And it brings you nearer to the people who live in the beauty village the whole year.
