About this apartment rental
This traditionally furnished and well-equipped holiday apartment is located in the centre of the historic town of Kastav. It extends over two floors and the terrace offers a view of the old Crekvina square. The square often serves as a stage for various events, such as concerts. The old town centre of Kastav is a popular tourist destination due to its exceptional cultural and historical heritage. Restaurants, souvenir shops and art galleries can be found in the immediate vicinity. The nearby town of Matulji, also known as the gateway to the Opatija Riviera, is known for its bell-making tradition, which is on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage. In the local taverns you can try jarbola, a wine with a specific flavour made from the local grape variety. Fans of active holidays can look forward to numerous cycling and hiking trails that lead them into the surrounding forests. One of the interesting ways to explore the beautiful natural and historical heritage of the Kastav region is horseback riding. We definitely recommend a day trip to the nearby mountain and nature park Uka, whose highest peak Vojak offers a fantastic panoramic view of Kvarner and inland Istria. Enjoy well-maintained hiking and cycling trails, nature trails and promenades, the most famous of which are the Slap promenade and the Vela Draga nature trail. You can enjoy various sporting activities such as hiking, free climbing, mountain biking and free flight. Be sure to visit Opatija, the centre of cultural events, which includes numerous concerts and festivals in the summer.

Although the location and accomodation were great, what was missing were explicit instructions on how to access the rental. Owner has omitted to note that guests must first park below the rental, then walk up to receive the property key and passkey for the pneumatic bollard that allows access to the upper village. Apart from that, a great stay!

mitten im Ortskern von Kastav, direkt an den Wanderwegen gelegen. Sehr freundliche Vermieter. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und eine tolle Woche dort verbracht.

De verhuurders zijn zeer vriendelijke, behulpzame en gastvrije mensen! Zij hebben ons een fantastische vakantie ervaring bezorgd!
Huisje ligt heel pittoresk op het pleintje bij de Crekvina. Het oude deel van Kastav straalt rust uit. Het huis ook.
Bij de Crekvina starten diverse wandelroutes. Wij liepen de gele en de blauwe route met 2 kinderen van 9 en 12 jaar. Binnen 5 minuten loop je in het bos. Een aanrader.
Parkeren is in dit deel van de stad alleen voor bewoners en via een paal die de grond in zakt toegankelijk. Verhuurders helpen je daar graag bij.
Tip: voer als locatie de Posta in Kastav in, dan kom je bij de paal uit. Google maps en andere routeplanners zien de straat daarachter als niet toegankelijk voor auto’s. Als je het adres van het huis invoert, neem je een heel avontuurlijke route via wandelpaden in het bos.
Kastav is een prima uitvalsbasis om de omgeving te ontdekken. Rijeka en Opatija liggen beiden op circa 15 minuten met de auto. Daar zijn in de baai leuke stranden om te zwemmen en snorkelen.
