Grassy Head Walkabout

We loved our few days in this little retreat. The cottage was homey and comfortable and contained all we needed. The decks on different sides of the house meant we could best enjoy the weather at different times of the day and from them we loved seeing the huge trees, the horses and the birds. Beds were comfortable and bedding suited the time of year. We arrived just after dark, and the cottage was cold. There was a log fire with chopped wood if we had decided we needed it. Over the weekend we left curtains opened and the sun warmed it really nicely, so we didn't need heating in the evenings. We would love to visit again at another time.

A little slice of paradise.

Lovely location, comfortable stay and good communication.

The two outdoor setting were really good. It was great to be able to look at the National Park out of the rain. The double bed was comfortable. The overall design of the cottage was great. It was clean and well supplied with crockery and cutlery. The bathroom was well designed, good washing machine and dryer. Suggestions: We have asked around and the following is considered to be part of the normal letting criterion and what we have experienced in the past. 1. The owners let the guests know 10 - 14 days in advance information regarding how to find the property and how to obtain the keys so that the guests do not have to contact Stayz on the Friday prior to the Monday of arrival. 2. Most guests have travelled and a "Welcome Pack" of disposables ( tea bag , coffee sachets small milk) gives a welcoming atmosphere. 3.Bearing in mind the current Covid climate soap should be provided. There was no information to say that soap was not provided. 4. There were no up to date hardcopies of the maps of the local area... bearing in mind that there was no internet this was a handicap. 5. We found a flyer in the house which gave details of a contact phone number, which was not answered until after we had booked out. 6. The dining room table which had suffered water damage in the past had not been made good leaving an un hygienic surface. 7.The DVD player was not functioning properly. It swallowed our DVD disc which we would like to be returned to us if possible. 8. For the rent that we were paying a second hand towel would be a good idea.
