Loft Hotel Malecón Vallarta

The hotel layout and rooms were a little awkward I had to go thru parking garage to get to room and I felt a like anxious because the room was a more exposed and accessible to the street through the garage and a little more noisy. But overall, it was very manageable and was fine during my stay.

We had the upgraded room, 2 large rooms, 3 ac units, 2 large bathrooms, big sitting area with equipped kitchen. The balcony is large and can easily seat 10 people, it has a view of the ocean to watch the sunset. There’s a view of the Malecon where you can watch the acrobats on the pole.

When I got to the hotel, I was given keys to a room on the first floor. I had booked a room with a balcony and a view of the ocean and thought I wasn’t getting the right room. The poor lady at the desk spoke English but couldn’t articulate that the hotel is built on a slope so all room are on the first floor. There are steps in the room which you need to be careful of.

The hotel is spotless. The staff works endlessly to keep it beautiful. The onsite restaurant is a lovely bonus. The pool is great. The hotel itself is fun and quirky. All the rooms are a little bit different. The location is amazing depending on what room you get you have a small ocean view but you’re right on the mole con right in the heart of all of the tourist traffic walking distance from anything you could ever need.

The front desk staff is awful. I had emailed back and forth several times with the hotel to change the dates of our reservation. It was confirmed. We arrived and had no room. The front desk lady was less than helpful. She also “couldn’t find” my second reservation for our return trip. We ended up staying anyways. 6 of us in one room when we had initially reserved two and I was never able to cancel the reservation without being charged. I currently have a dispute open with the credit card company again even though we were there talking with her she was unable to resolve our problems. I emailed the hotel and they pretended like my questions didn’t exist in their response. Two days into our four day day My Daughter rented a second room herself as again six of us were in one room with no window. When she went down to check in the same front desk lady said her reservation didn’t exist I don’t know what this lady problem was I don’t know if she doesn’t tourists or what but she made our stay miserable. I’ll also say that booking.com‘s customer service is absolutely less than helpful and I will never ever ever book anything through booking.com again. We also had an issue with the car rental that we booked through booking.com I was also unable to cancel that without being charged a fee even though the rental car company never showed up to give us our car.
