Villa with garden and private pool

My family and I have just returned from a 9-day stint at this stunning property that we have affectionately termed "Lemon Grove Villa." The photos don't do justice to the idyllic setting or high-end accommodations at this rental. This property is clearly loved by the family that owns it and served as a luxurious base for our vacation in Eastern Sicily. 20+ meters in length and 3 meters in depth, the swimming pool is probably the best residential pool I have ever seen. Giant boulders of lava rest inside the pool which I assume serve to trap the sun's heat as well as to provide a uniquely Sicilian bathing experience, complete with an infinity edge view over the hillside and beyond to the Ionian Sea. A nearby grape vine-entwined pergola offers full daytime shelter from the blazing sun, where you can dry comfortably amidst wafts of honeysuckle. The house is full of extras, including a hammock, comfortable outdoor couches, well stocked bar, 8mbps reliable internet, and even a pizza oven! As other reviewers have pointed out and as we were all-too prepared for, the hard beds were the only conspicuous weakness at Lemon Grove Villa, although this is a common problem we have run into across Italy. Goldilocks would not approve of these beds. We found that they could be softened with the help of the lounge chair mats from the pool. Incidentally, the bed in the "casole", or guest house, is much softer than the beds in the main house. GPS was critical in finding Lemon Grove Villa and navigating around the vicinity in general. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps will identify the property if you search for "Via Brinzio" and select the resulting entry in Aci Catena. This home has everything you can imagine for a vacation in paradise. The pictures are very accurate. The pool is amazing! The home is absolutely beautiful. It is not like many rental properties which have just the basics. This house and property obviously belongs to a family that loves and takes care of property. I felt privileged to stay in such a magnificent home. The AC did not work when we arrived on a hot day. But they sent someone out immediately to fix it. The property is difficult to find since the streets in Sicily are not well marked. We loved our visit and would definitely like to return some day!

Lovely villa, all features described accurately as in the listing. Paola was very helpful with information and instructions beforehand, and Pietro and his grandmother were fantastically welcoming when we arrived. They explained all the features and facilities to us, and they had taken a lot of time and care to make sure the property was spotless when we arrived. Grandmama had even baked us some cookies, a lovely touch. The instructions to reach the property were a little confusing, and could be improved The house is wonderfully spacious, with two great outside patios; one which we used at mealtimes, and the other at the pool. The pool itself is fantastic - big and deep enough to swim properly, easy access, and well located in the garden with trees and a view. The air conditioning was much appreciated in the summer heat. The kitchen is a little small and cramped compared to the rest of the house, but well-equipped (except no kettle!!) . Some of the family found the beds too hard (this has been commented on by previous guests). Amenities in the immediate area are limited, but plenty within a 10-20 km radius, and Paolo provided some good information beforehand, so this wasn't a surprise. Overall, we can certainly recommend this - it was expensive, but the property itself, and the excellent service provided by Paolo & Pietro justifies the cost.

We had a lovely holiday at a pretty well equipped villa, with a beautiful pool and garden. I would recommend this villa, the only complaint was the very hard beds.
