This stay at Le Diamant was our very first stay anywhere without using a Hotel, our very first VRBO...ever!! It was excellent and it was exciting and very satisfying, as we had the pleasure of being welcomed by our amazing host Philippe and his wife. They met us with fresh fruits and spent some time to share great info about Martinique. They also made sure the residence was clean with coffee and some bottled water so we can at least have some refreshments. We were very nervous as it is also our first visit to Martinique, so a lot of mystery, but this kicked off our vacation and made our stay very enjoyable. This residence is actually in the heart of a very active area, all within a 10 min walk in any direction. On the ground level an excellent bakery where lots of locals come every morning to buy items. Across the street on the beach side lots of BBQs and vendors with music and places to sit and enjoy the afternoon into late night, and very safe. The beach there during our stay was a bit rough, but also great as we were able to "ride the waves'. The XO restaurant just around the corner and the Pizza shop are both very very good. We went to XO twice and both times excellent food and atmosphere. Give yourself about 30 mins to drive to many great areas and other beaches such as Twois Ilets and others as well as to take the ferry to Fort De France. 5 Stars for a great vacation.
