We were grateful to call this place home for a month, though it definitely came with some quirks. As many reviews have mentioned (and I feel it’s worth repeating), the ceilings in the back portion of the property are extremely low—particularly in the kitchen, bathroom, and second bedroom. My partner bumped his head several times, the shower was quite tight, and the low ceiling meant having to duck under the shower head. The kitchen setup was also a bit makeshift. It had an induction stovetop and a toaster, but since both were plugged into the same power strip, you couldn’t use them at the same time without tripping the circuit breaker. It made for a hard kitchen experience, so we didn't cook too often. One thing that wasn’t completely clear beforehand: dogs aren’t allowed in the backyard. Instead, they have to be let out into the alleyway behind the unit. This worked fine for my dogs, but if yours need a secure, fenced yard, keep that in mind.On the plus side, the in-unit laundry, parking spot right in front of the door, and reliable A/C were huge conveniences. The space itself feels really old school, but overall it served its purpose well for our stay.

Our little family had a wonderful time doing a long-term stay at this location. And I must say again - location - location - location is everything. Quick walks to restaurants, cafe and a fun longer walk or short drive (2 min) to bookstores, parks, grocery stores. We spent our month driving all over neighborhoods visiting other parks and just immersing ourselves in the city. There are a few items that I gave to Joy (the host) as a recommendation and don’t expect it to impact my review much! The primary bedroom is plenty large with lots of space to place all of your things and the small bedroom is perfectly fit for small children, but you do have to access the laundry room through that location so if you’re a late night laundry kind of family - you’ll have to wait, but that shouldn’t sway you at all either. If you have a very rambunctious child younger than 5 i wouldn’t use the smaller bedroom due to some concrete steps that aren’t pictured. We had a bit of a time keeping our 2.5 from playing on them - as he crawled out of the bed in the middle of the night and fell. Because of his age - that’s the only reason I wouldn’t suggest kids younger than 5.

The location and garden were wonderful. The host was super nice. However, the apartment was just okay. The place is a bit of a bargain for a reason. It met our needs but it wasn't special. Some suggestions for improvement that are hopefully helpful: - Tall and large people will find the bathroom ceiling challenging and the small shower hard to use. This should be emphasized in the listing. - The television should not be described as large. It is small and had issues with constant flashing. - The mattress on the queen sized bed was old and sunk down. - The apartment felt like a gathering of old uncomfortable furniture and well used objects. Small changes could be made to make it nicer.
