Fantastic location, great walk around the farm so peaceful. No pub or anywhere to eat so just relax
which was great. Sat in front of the fire with a bottle of wine perfect.
Rain lol but was lovely sat in the Cowboy hut listening.

A remote cosy cottage, clean and tidy on arrival with complimentary snack/drinks. Ideal for a couple or family. Bed was comfortable, spacious and warm. The log burner is great and heats the whole cottage up & logs are provided. Lots of DVDS, games and books provided should you need some entertainment. There is a stairgate at the top and bottom of the stairs which is great for kids/dogs. Parking right outside the cottage. When finding the cottage using google maps is took us to a field about 2miles away from the destination. This didnt look like a legit road. Therefore we carried on and joined the B4355 by which time the maps had rerouted itself and took us on a narrow single road route instead which id say maybe a better route to take. We also found we had 4g signal at the cottage which was handy for using maps. Lots of lovely walks on the doorstep (just pack some good waterproof shoes). Good communication prior to arrival from Zoe. This place is lovely for just some time away and unwind.
Not a negative for the property.
More for other visitor awareness which i think should be made clear. The secure garden is quite small and not grassed just patio (this is more relevant if your bringing dogs imo) i cant comment on how secure it is as we never used it. To get to this place i wouldnt recommend turning up in a fiat 500, low set car. There are some steep hills (incline and decend), and the road is quite uneven with some large potholes, and when heavy rain theres some big puddles and a ford to drive through to get to the cottage. My petrol kuga struggled at times due to its lack of power.

We loved the location of this cottage, lovely to see the wildlife in the surrounding area. The log fire was a particularly nice asset. The kitchen was well equipped too. Comfortable sofa and the bed was really comfortable and clean.
It’s lovely that there are lots of DVDs but none were in the right case and some missing. The pressure in the shower if you want it hot was not great.

As soon as you enter the retreats it feels relaxing and perfect. The Cowboy hut itself was stunning. Loads of character and home from home.
Everything was perfect.

Loved the peace and quiet - it was a great experience which we really enjoyed. To wake up to cows and sheep was great.
Every time we tried to use the toaster it blew the fuses. We failed to get the shower to run hot.

The location was lovely and the board games and books were a great touch. The decor was nice and suited the style of acommodation. There were often staff on site who asked how our stay was going. Plenty of linens provided for our large group, plus extras like dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
There were stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs so well equipped for those with younger children.
The fairy garden with swing, Wendy house and toadstools was very sweet.
There was a lot of dust and cobwebs under the beds, behind the sofas and under the kitchen units. There was dirty linen on the floor in the downstairs bedroom.
The remotes for the tv didn't work properly meaning we were stuck watching CBBC/BBC 3 when we were in the cottage. It did say in the book to contact 'Tom' who would be able to sort this however we forgot to mention this during normal working hours and it seemed like a minor problem to bother them out of hours.
There could be better signposting from the main road to the campsite as it was quite tricky to find which turning to take.

Honestly, an exceptional stay that was enjoyed by all the family - in the heart of the countryside, it was tranquil, clean and cosy!

Nice rural quiet location and views very lovely peaceful with good walks, supply of games and facilities.
Was a bit of a trek carrying our stuff up the hill to the lodge. No Bbq & would be nice to have a hot tub on the decking and more comfy mattress.

The only thing about the property was the lane going to it. If you got a 4x4 your be ok but if your car low it a bit more tricky as you will scrape your car

Absolutely beautiful! Lovely, remote location. Perfect place to take our dog, he’s very nervous so a more private location was great, we barely saw anyone but those we did were really friendly. Easy to locate, self check-in was really straight forward and more than we could have asked for after a horrid drive!

Kids and parents constantly screaming.
More information needed where to go on arrival.
We eventually noticed the map on the notice board and found where to go. Was told the key was in a safe at the yurt. But no mention of code to get in(luckily you didn't need one, but this info would.be helpful before we got there.
Also an extra chair would be good. Didn't like sitting on the bed for most of the time as only 1 chair

What an incredible place!!!! Miles from noise and pollution and situated in a beautiful valley, the shepherd's hut we stayed in was nestled in the tree canopy. We had a huge enclosed deck to sit on and our dog loved the space it provided. We were also a good distance away from the next huts. John and Fiona were brilliant too, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hut itself was beautiful inside with a little kitchen and separate bathroom with a full power shower which was a welcome surprise given the location of the hut. Be advised though that there is no TV or Internet access except for in the community area and Internet cafe, which was perfect for us as it meant we had no distractions of modern life. The walks and scenery on your doorstep are spectacular and a must while your here. Make sure you bring some essentials with you though as there is only a small honesty shop on site and the nearest town is about 10 miles away back down the rather bumpy track.( If you drive a low car you'll struggle on it as its heavily rutted but it is a working farm after all) but wow its worth it once you get there! I looked at dozens of shepherd's huts to stay in for a few days and I can honestly say that I don't think there's better out there that offer what this place offers. Will 100% be back again soon so thankyou guys, we had a truly fantastic time and we honestly can't find fault with any of our stay.
The bed is made by taking the table down and using as a platform which you then put the provided mattress topper onto. This is fine and reasonably comfortable but if you struggle with back issues you may find it difficult although I can't see how they could do it any other way so not a complaint, rather a watchout for anyone with back problems.

We adore this place, we’ve been twice and have another weekend booked. It’s rustic and natural and the only thing they could improve for us is the mattress. We’ve stayed in both yurts, both mattresses were uncomfortable, the nomad yurt mattress takes time to find a position around the springs for comfort, but this doesn’t stop us wanting to go back. The little treats in the village hall are a lovely touch and the internet when you need/want it is perfect for us to check in on the kids once a weekend but not be disturbed for the rest of the time.
As above the mattresses on the beds. The first time there was extra milk in the village hall and this time not, maybe a reminder to customers to bring extra if they want it. 😊

Lovely setting although very tricky to get there as instructions were very misleading, not enough signs to property ,the ones that were disable were hand painted and in the bushes ,also having to go through fields with live stock in etc ,track across fields to property very uneven
Access and road conditions to property and signs not good

beautiful peaceful location and surrounded by nature. we booked the Farmhouse as a surprise trip for our friends 50th birthday. we are a group of 4 adults with 4 very small dogs.
we did ask to check in early so could arrange some balloons and surprise our friend but sadly we arrived at the earlier time but the Farmhouse wasn’t ready. As the owner had decided to stay there and didn’t check out until the last minute, which apparently does happen quite often, so bare this in mind if you wanted to ask to check in there before 4pm.
The staff did get it cleaned super quickly though, which we really appreciated.
kitchen is traditional with everything you could need, lounge is very cosy and perfect for a night around the fire.
we enjoyed the outside terrace area and seating on a freak sunny day. The beds are so incredibly comfortable we all slept like logs.
Such a great place to stay we would love to return.
Also, to note, I left a few bits behind accidentally and the amazing team got them back to me in the post, going above and beyond.
late check in time and no warning that we arrived early but couldn’t check in.
No pub in walking distance, it’s a 15-20 minute drive away. But still had the best time and loved being so remote in such a wonderful farm house.

Absolutely fantastic location, the accommodation has character, is well proportioned and furnished, including cooking utensils, some condiments and plenty of torches. It's great to see the stars without light pollution too.
Details are well considered everywhere, well constructed paths and steps, well lit, instructions and notes left for you to be self sufficient in communal areas. Free to roam around the farmland and forest. Very relaxing and great to get away from things!
Not a negative, but just pointing it out... It's a very remote location a few miles away from anything else, I like to get away from everything, and fine for me. I image some might not realise how remote it is though.

We loved the idea of being in the middle of nowhere but at the same time feeling cosy and comfortable. It was so lovely to have no phone pinging all the time and to go to sleep when your body told you it was bedtime.
Didn't find anything we didn't like
