It was ok - definitely room for improvements

The room size and some of the staff were lovely

1 girl on breakfast - she did her best and was so helpful but was definitely under pressure dealing with both customers in the restaurant and room service Reception staff weren’t to be seen and we had to either wait for 15 minutes until Someone arrived or go looking for someone to help us. We booked room with a cot and had confirmation email that this would be supplied. It wasn’t in the room when we checked in so we requested this once we went up to the room and it was put in our room while we were out with no extra bedding for the baby so we couldn’t use it. I just feel the management need to have more staff on shift at busy times, and a permanent reception staff member. It’s a great hotel but these things would definitely make the experience a bit more streamlined for customers The food in the restaurant was excellent, the room size is great, the room was clean - a bit more staff training and increasing staff at busy times will improve review score

Lovely short break

This is a lovely hotel. It was well placed for us as we have family in Laytown and we had come over for a flying visit. The rooms were lovely, clean spacious and more importantly, warm! The restaurant is fab, we had breakfast which was tasty and plentiful and had a family meal there one evening which was amazing. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Young staff were aloof and distant. Booked twin room got double, thought I booked wrong but when I checked my booking next day after I left I realised I was right and the hotel got it wrong?

The comfort of the room

We waited 30mins before being checked in. Asking 5 members of staff if somebody could check us in. Also the music playing downstairs eas far too loud land we could still hear it as clear as day at 11pm.

staff very friendly/helpful. food was great: ate at restaurant both nights we were there.

our room was above the patio that everyone came out to smoke on. As people drank more it got louder and louder. It was like having a party of extremely boisterous drunks IN OUR ROOM. Noise could not be ignored and wound up being awake past 1am (had early morning plans so very tired the next day. When it happened AGAIN on the second night we realized this is a VILLIAGE hangout; great for the locals, not so good if you are in the rooms in the front of hotel.

Never again stay there

Felt like a B&B not a Hotel, i was very disappointed the Carpets leading to Rooms were dirty, The Bed spread was dirty & stained the towels up on top off this so i could not have a shower?? Also did not sleep very well was in room 108 & the noise outside the front door was so loud, the windows were left open in my room so it was cold, I had to climb up on the window sill to close the top windows as they were very high up. So i decided to get up at 7am & leave to go home to nice clean bed. Very disappointed for the price per night

Good comfortable stay.

The room was nice. Bed was comfortable and amenities like tea, coffee, shampoo, etc were appreciated.

The iron wasn’t working and noise from patio below after 10:00 pm was a bit annoying. Probably wouldn’t have bothered us except the night was warm so we had to keep the window open. There was no one to be found when we checked out this morning. I left the key on the desk behind the counter but would have liked to hand it to a person and get a copy of the bill.

Overpriced for the comfort and amenities offered. Trash not picked up in the hallways. Rooms were too warm, unable to open window very far to ventilate. Cook was an hour late opening the restaurant for breakfast (not till 9am).

I had to tell the receptionist all the above before we left the hotel as they needed to be told.

The staff were exceptional, full of fun and help but what blew me away was the local customers were most welcoming and great craic. Music was also excellent

One staff member was very snappy.

One staff member was very snappy. Spoiled our break. Other mostly minor issues. No 'Do Not Disturb' sign. No doors on wardrobe. No curtain on shower, water got everywhere. Snappy staff when we asked for fresh towels or toilet paper. We didn't ask for much, used same towels. Leaky kettle. Only 17 saorview stations, rte+1, TG4 +1, etc. No satellite channels. Window opening very high, had to climb up to reach, not very safe. Location really far from beach, seemed to be a residential area.. Check out was 11am, said 12 on the website. Old style key for room not card key. Seemed under-staffed at times.\

Convenient location with great staff but noisy due to music in onsite bar/restaurant

Great location for travelling to and from Balbriggan / Gormanstown. Near the beach. Walking distance to Tesco/LIDL. Free and convenient car parking. On-site restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff. Spacious room. Black-out linings on curtains. Kettle and fridge in room.

Asked for a quiet room. Was given room overlooking the car park and outdoor seating area. Heard the thud thud of bar/restaurant music and guest noise until bar closed at 00.30, then heard rowdy folk in car park. Meant that I didn’t sleep well at all. Very badly marked carpet. Looked dirty. Lack of attention to detail in the room - paintwork, water left in kettle Lack of ‘do not disturb’ sign for the door handle (if had had one of these maybe the noisy guests on my corridor would have been more considerate when returning to their room at night)
