This was our 2nd visit in a short time lovely and warm inside plenty of space clean and comfy bed
Washing machine could not be used as drawer was trapped under the bench plus nowhere to dry clothes stairs on approach to the flat can be a nightmare as very old and uneven

I honestly can’t think of anything.

Nothing
Booked in December advertised as number 17 when l got email for keys showing number 17A l booked in advanced for January l didn’t attend after the experience in December dangerous staircase up to flat not suitable for anyone with mobility problem of you turn up in a wheelchair it would be a disaster
The owner refused a refund without any consideration it was falsely advertised as a lower flat and when you get email it shows upper flat
Very poor customer service service from owner
But have to say booking. Com has been very good acting on my behalf to try and get refund
But the owner has no sympathy to disabled people
So book at your peril

The value for money in comparison to other locations further away
The property had everything we required

Premium luxury vibes - comfortable and warm. It's rare for me to have 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep, and lo and behold, the comfy bed and quiet place had done it for me! Oven, hob and washing machine in good working order, and it has a well equipped kitchen with all manners of ladles, pots and pans. Superb!
If anything, the bin had a cracked lid, which is more an aesthetic thing, as it did not affect its function.

Outside stairs to flat not advertised as not suitable for any one with mobility problems as l found out when l arrived
I unfortunately have a prior booking in January and if l knew about the stair problem l would not have booked
Unfortunately l can’t get a refund so l will have to
Just suffer this time
the flat inside was ideal but unfortunately l will never book it again

Central location to town Clean bright apartment comfy bed
No icebox in fridge so no ice for drinks which is disappointing that was my only negative
Yes the stairs are old but so is the building if you can climb stairs it’s not a issue

The property is in a convenient location for the town centre shops and walks along the promenade.
The bathroom was a bit snug, especially the shower cubicle but it was clean. The induction hob was fine if you had used one before, kettle and toaster worked but didn't use the washer. Can see that it is impossible to access the softener drawer! Best to take capsules. Heating is by electric panels which were fine. Bed was comfy.
Lovey view of the Clyde from the kitchen.
The approach to the apartment via 30 steps is positively dangerous, different heights of steps, handrail with sharp edges and bolts sticking out or taped together, spells missing leaving wide gaps. Absolutely awful to negotiate in the dark when battling against wind and rain and trying to bring in your luggage and food. I am sure they are a breech of H&S regs.
There was no lighting anywhere near the staircase none in the entrance hall, where the external door appeared to be permanently wedged open, allowing a gale into the flat hallway. The light in the flats hallway flickered horribly, so we didn't use it. (Margaret was aware.)
Only a clothes hanging rail, no drawers.
There were no instructions for the TV. It took us an hour to get something on it and then the sound button is very iffy. You have to press the reduce sound and then frantically press the increase sound at same time!! On the second day we were able to watch a video. On the 3rd and 4th days there was nothing. Maybe it was due to storm Amy! The coffee filter doesn't work, the red light did come on. Serving dishes and spoons were missing, just 4 small cereal bowls to heat up anything, no splatter guard. No wooden spoons to stir anything, fairly basic needs when you are self catering.
We eventually found some appliance instructions on the top shelf of a cupboard, but nothing about the TV. The info in the black file needs updating.
From reading through the other reviews the stairs and lack of lighting are the biggest issues. Ongoing over the years!
I cannot understand why the owner doesn't realise how important first impressions are and how important a safe staircase and lighting is for safety.

Nothing as they cancelled twice with the same excuse, two years in a row
Nothing, nice pics, but as I said they cancelled twice within days of our stay. There won’t be a third time.

Great location. It was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable and slept well.
The rear steps are irregular size and can be slippery when wet. The hand rail had been repaired but still not safe, in my opinion. There was a door in the shared entrance, not a good start. It is in need of some TLC. Paper coming away from the wall. An iron but no board. A washing machine, but you can't use the draw for the conditioner. There's a rail to hang clothes but no draws. The front door needs painting . It's just tired.

The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. The living area and kitchen were all in one room, not huge, but comfortable. Good location - only a short stroll into town. It is downhill into town so uphill back, but pretty much all residential property in Dunoon is uphill from town! Lovely cafe nearby who did good lunches and coffees - “Local Hero”.
We had a few issues.
1) the parking was described as “on site”, but was actually free on street parking. We stayed in May and it was quite busy so we managed to park near the accommodation then simply did not use the car until we left!
2) the steep steps up to the accommodation were not mentioned in the description. An added issue was they were in a terrible state of repair following a recent storm. The majority of the railings were either missing completely or very loose and red/white tape was everywhere to denote the danger. The owner assured us they were to be repaired so hopefully not a long term problem as very dangerous.
3) the shower is small and not particularly powerful, but definitely useable
4) minor issues with a broken hairdryer and shower hose were addressed quickly by Margaret (property manager ) who was brilliant!

It’s a really cozy flat, easy to find, in a peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. Shops are a short walk away. Nice quiet beaches a short drive away. Botanic gardens really close.
I got message from the host with very clear directions.

It was very clean and in a central location.
We had no hot water the last two days of our stay, including the shower. This was reported to the owner directly but was not remedied.
The steep outside steps to the flat were uneven and broken in many places. Two workmen came unannounced on the Saturday to repair some of them, using power tools to cut paving slabs. We had to climb over a space of two steps to get into the flat at one point, a hole which went down quite some height into the stairwell, which was scary. We had difficulty getting down again later, too, as we were going out.The work was noisy and a nuisance, and this it should have been done when the flat was vacant. They were working outside the kitchen/ living area.
The flat itself is very basic and small. The shower had no temperature control and was lukewarm even before the hot water failed. There is a limited amount of cutlery and crockery for self-catering.
The mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable.
l am very disappointed that I have messaged the owner through Booking.com re our issues with the lack of hot water and access to the flat, but he has not responded. I feel that hot water is a very basic requirement.
I'm not sure how this property received such a high rating on the site as it is basic at most.

Ideal for us. Very good location - restaurants, bars and chip shop all within easy walking distance.
Outside stairs need attention - missing railings, make shift treads and crumbling risers.

Parking a little difficult, lots of stairs

It was easy to find from the instructions given. The information pack was useful. It was clean and comfortable.
It needs de-cobwebbing and could do with a bean bag or something to put your feet up whilst watching tv.

Great location. Had everything we needed for our stay. Paul was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely apartment once your in it. Nice and clean.
The stairs up to the apartment were awful as the railings to hold onto were all worn out and were very loose and not easy getting up and down the 30 stairs. The surrounding neighbours were not friendly at all.
4.0 / 10.0
Bed was comfy. Nice view from the kitchen and able to sit outside in sun.
Shower waste was blocked with hair, the hot water tap on the sink was difficult to turn on, no towels matched or were big enough (unlike the pictures in the advert), no full set of crockery, TV was a pain in the hoop to work, the hob was difficult to operate - no instructions, crockery and utensils were dirty, cobwebs everywhere. Heating is difficult to control - too hot one day, too cold the next - yes it's storage heating - hate it. Although impacted with having a cast steps were a nightmare as uneven and the railings broken and loose, gate stuck and didn't give full access. Decor is tired. Shelves popped up with bits of wood. The furniture was tired and falling apart. Definitely not a 9.1.

Didnt expect 30 steps to go up to the apartment. once the heating was on it was nice and warm.
the hot tap in the bathroom didn't work, appears to be an ongoing issue based on previous comments., not enough big, thick towels, there were only relatively small thin ones available( again previously mentioned). Not enough cutlery( knives were sparse), kitchen items( again previously mentioned). Received a written note requesting keeping noise down which made us feel very uncomfortable so as to only whisper. we were not noisy, just watching tv, normal level of conversation, but the bed, whilst comfortable for us was very squeaky, hence partly to do with the patronising anonymous written notice left taped to the wall outside the front door. quite disappointing and reduced the pleasure of our stay.
