About this apartment rental

A corner Penthouse with huge roof terrace that gets sun all day.

2 Bedrooms include one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and twin bedroom with separate bathroom. The en-suite has recently been upgraded in a contemporary style and now has a large walk in rain shower. Both bedrooms have blackout shutters for a good night's sleep!

In addition to the roof terrace, there are two further large terraces. The main terrace leading off from the lounge has a gas barbecue, dining table and parasol for al fresco dining. The third, large terrace is located off the double bedroom and offers sun in the morning but shade during the heat of the day. This terrace also turns into a cosy area for evening drinks. All terraces have amazing views out to the sea, mountains and over the golf course.

Air Conditioning is provided in the main living areas and both bedrooms along with ceiling fans. Free Wifi is available throughout. There is a large widescreen TV in the lounge with access to most UK TV channels.

The modern kitchen overlooks the lounge area and has dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven/hob and large American style fridge/freezer.

The Penthouse itself is located in a very secure complex with gated & 24 hour manned security. The complex includes a very large pool area with a pleasant grassed area for sunbathing located close to the penthouse. The pool complex is available from Midday to 8pm June 1st to September 30th (May be extended). There is a padel tennis court available for the use of guests and rackets & balls are provided in the apartment.

The beautiful and popular village of La Cala is a short walk down the hill from the complex. Within easy walking distance are at least 50 restaurants of all types, numerous bars and a huge, fantastic large beach with golden sand, sunbeds and umbrellas. Limited watersports are available during the peak summer holiday months.

The boardwalk is a fantastic facility that allows visitors to walk approx 6 km from La Cala to Cabopino all along the coastline. Many quality Chiringuitos (beach bar/restaurants) are dotted along the route. Great exercise and amazing views.

The penthouse benefits from being on a hill with panoramic views over the village and towards the sea so although it is a very easy 10-15 minute walk down to the village it is recommended to take one of the numerous taxis in the village which costs just 6 euros (£4.50) back up to the complex gate. It is walkable back up though if you fancy some exercise!

We had a great holiday in Cala de Mijas. The apartment was perfect for us, 4 adults. It was spacious clean and very well equipped, there is plenary of outside space and with fabulous views. We didn’t hire a car, and managed the work into town to eat out , a couple of times a day. The owner was very quick to respond to questions, and was able to recommend a reliable taxi firm for our transfers. We were a subtle apprehensive about the effect Covid restrictions might have on our holiday, but we need not have worried. Restrictions around the pool worked well, with a one way System and socially distance sunbathing areas. In the town , restaurants and bars were reasonably busy with good atmosphere. Wearing masks , was a small price to pay for an excellent holiday.

This is a superb place to stay in a really nice gated community, a short walk to the centre of la cala. Loads of positives and the recent renovation to the huge en suite was very impressive, particularly the amazing rain shower. Everything you need and really is a home from home experience with the inside space and bedrooms all good sizes. The outside space is also worth mentioning with three separate terraces all with lovely views of the mountains and the sea. It was great opening the shutters on the morning, seeing brilliant sunshine and fantastic mountains in the background. All the way through Phil was really quick with replies to any questions we had and supporting us through the uncertain times of whether we would be able to go if the flights were cancelled due to the Covid crisis. We had a slight mishap with the keys to the front door on the way out one night (our fault) and it was resolved by the contact you have within a couple of hours with them telling us to go out and enjoy our night and they would sort it all out while we were out. A downhill walk to the centre of la cala and the beach is approx 10 to 15 mins passing lidl on the way. You don't need a car unless you want to venture further afield however we used an uber to get home on a night as its uphill and only 3.5 euros to get back from the centre of la cala. You can walk back, and we did a couple of times, but the uber was much easier. The pool area was really nice and majority of the time very quiet. Paddle tennis court is right next to the house and we enjoyed some great times playing as a family with everything you need included, bats in the property. Also other games such as connect 4 and battleships as well as plenty of books and dvds to use. We found the wifi had better speeds than we have at home and we have fibre broadband at home. This was seen as a major plus to my 12 and 15 year old sons. We would definitely stay again and no hesitation in giving 5 stars and highly recommend it as a place to stay.

Warm enough for a swim in the sea and a suntan. Whilst pool in complex was closed, everything else in area was open. We discovered excellent Quad bike safari in area, beautiful scenery, followed by a trip to Mijas in the hills.
