Kaesa Homestay

Keasa was so nice! When we arrived, he sat us down, explained what we could do in the area, and gave us recommendations for places to eat. They helped us organise trips in Berastagi and transportation to Lake Toba. They also have the best beds! The location is also pretty great, close to market street.

The owner Kaesa is a very friendly and funny host, who provides you with all the information you need for your stay in Berastagi (food, activities, transport) when you arrive. Breakfast is included (nasi, mie, banana pancake, toast) which is nice. His family / the staff are very friendly! We did the Sibayak tour organized by Kaesa which was nice and good price (I think around 200k including hotsprings). Rooms were comfortable, the shower was sometimes hot and sometimes cold, and we had a little terrace with two chairs in front of the room. There was free drinking water which was amazing!

A great value, comfortable & welcoming Homestay. Convenient for our trek up the Sibayak valley volcano. Kaesa, the owner & host was very accommodating, helping us with transport & a guide for the trek as well as our transfer to Lake Toba.

I’m an early morning tea/coffee enthusiast and a jug to boil water in our room before their breakfast at 7 am would have been fabulous.

Loved how quick they were to communicate, offer suggestions and organise a driver(the owners nephew, who was a fantastic driver who we booked for further travel).

The rooms were small, but for the price it was fine.
