sparse, noisy but has all the elements for a stay in Lucca. Owner nice and accommodating. Apt needs a bit of decorating. towels need to be newer and more fans in the summer.

This is a great apartment for one or two people. It is equipped with everything one needs (Linens, towels, dishes, cookware, etc). It is located on a quaint street with places for food, gelato and coffee. There are several produce markets, places for meats, cheeses and breads. It is an easy walked to the walls of Lucca. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. The apartment is as advertised - airy and well-located. The apartment is equipped with nearly all the appliances you need for your stay. I was there for two weeks. There is a self-service laundry just a couple of minutes walk north. Around the apartment are several salumeria and fruits/vegetable stores as well as restaurants etc. This is a good location. If you need a supermarket, there is an Esselunga that is less than 1 km away. You are just a few minutes walk from Porta Santa Maria. I used the train a lot to travel around Tuscany and walked through the old city of Lucca daily. It is a pleasant walk once you learn to walk in the shade! The apartment is on a busy, cobbled street with the bedroom facing east. The kitchen faces west. There is usually a nice breeze blowing through. WiFi works throughout the apartment and is fast. I did not use the TV so can’t tell you more about what is available! The owner was very helpful in guiding me around town. Lucca is a lovely town especially inside the Mura (wall). The wall is a delightful promenade to walk on whether for a stroll or to make your way around the city. Lucca has much to explore - take your time. You don’t need a guide if you’re willing to wander about on your own and research the sights to see. If you’re prepared to walk about town, it really is easy. If you want to rent a cycle, there are places just inside the Santa Maria gate. Plenty of restaurants in that area too. This gate is the northern end of Lucca and less ‘touristy’ than the popular spots in Lucca. Overall I’d recommend this apartment as a good way to see not just Lucca, but as a base to explore Tuscany. I took the train to La Spezia (for the Cinque Terre boat tour), Pisa (the San Rossore Station puts you very close to the Leaning Tower), Firenze, Pistoia, Montecatini - all Tuscan places worth visiting. The trains are quite convenient to get around (I made my life easier by using the Loco2 app). I also went to Torre Del Lago Puccini using trains! If you do stay in this apartment, tell the owner that the Canadian who spent two weeks in June 2019, sends his regards!

L’appartamento è come da foto: pulito, ordinato e semplice. Dista pochissimi minuti a piedi dalle mura di Lucca. La proprietaria è molto cordiale e gentile.
