Perfect for a quick mid week getaway. House was clean, awesome river views, and comfy beds. The home was filled with great art and an awesome library with lots of photography books, plus a bonus bocce court and lots of outdoor spaces for river/eagle watching relaxation. Our stay was just what we needed.

The property was beautiful and as advertised. Check in was smooth, and Danny was very prompt with answers to the two questions we had, and helpful in recommending some restaurants in the area. The kitchen had everything we needed to make great dinners and enjoy them inside or outside. We enjoyed staying there with our dog and hiking nearby, as well as hanging out on the deck reading and watching the bald eagles near the river.

This is what I would want to know when making my decision of where to stay. It is a beautiful home and location. The water was wonderful - shallow so you can walk right in from the backyard or kayak. Problem with the river - fast current, so be ready to paddle. Eagles are in your backyard together with foxes and deer. Neighbors are the downside if you want solitude (like me - prefer no neighbors or at least not right next door). Bocce ball court is awesome. The grill needs to be replaced and there is no microwave for quick warmups. The town is adorable, but closed the majority of the time. The pizza place does not permit ordering out during the summer. Make reservations ASAP or you are likely not going to get a table. Oh, try the brisket from Big Eddy's Brewing. There is antiquing in Hawley - 30 minutes away. But again, a lot of the stores are closed except Friday-Sunday. The Tusten trail for hiking is definitely moderate and an all around good hike. We decided that overall, we prefer the environment of the Adirondacks - more privacy, hiking, etc. to do. The location - only neighbors on one side which is nice. For the majority of folks, this is an outstanding place, it just isn't secluded enough for us and enough activity.

We enjoyed our recent visit to this log home on the Delaware river. The grounds are beautiful and it is a peaceful, quiet spot. We observed much wildlife (bald eagles, deer, ducks, geese), all without mosquitoes or gnats! Various outside activities are available, as described on the website. The home is also fully equipped, especially the kitchen with a fantastic ice-maker! On arrival be sure to read the host’s binder notebook, since you are instructed to turn on the hot water heater on arrival (and off when leaving). The upstairs loft bedroom has a bathroom, but guests in the two basement bedrooms need to use the main floor bathroom. The claw-foot tub upstairs and the Jacuzzi in the main bathroom can be difficult to get in and out of. Sheets and towels are provided, but you are requested to wash the towels before leaving. Lighting in this home creates a cozy ambiance like candlelight, and the brightly-lit website photos are not representative. To play board games at the kitchen table we needed to move lamps. The kitchen and TV extension cords/plugs were temperamental. Some notes: This home is not handicapped-accessible, as mentioned on the website. The cumbersome front entry gates need repair, and garbage cans do not fit into the shed where they were to be stored. On only 3 of our 5 day visit did a train run through, about 10:30pm. Narrowsburg restaurants are open on Thursday though Sunday. While we did enjoy this pleasant retreat from a noisy world, we believe that the rental fee for midweek was overpriced.
