About this villa rental

Nestled into the verdant hillside of Tortola’s north shore, 300 feet above the sea, VILLA ALLANO is a beautifully constructed spacious villa that has everything you need for a perfect Caribbean vacation.

Each of the three large bedrooms has an ensuite bath with large walk-in shower and is furnished with a king-sized bed, custom closets and matching tropical hardwood furniture. Air conditioning throughout the villa ensures living and sleeping comfort year round, although the trade winds and ceiling fans keep the house comfortably cool much of the year. Beautiful artwork throughout the villa, tasteful mahogany furnishings inside and weathered teak outdoor furniture make this a very special place.

VILLA ALLANO is on two levels; on the second level, two master bedroom suites open to a 30 foot long covered verandah. Cushioned teak steamer lounges make this an ideal location for early morning coffee or late afternoon relaxing.

The villa offers wireless internet connection.

The large L-shaped first level has a fully-equipped kitchen and beautifully furnished open plan living and dining area, and also opens to a 30 foot long covered verandah.

By the pool are a teak table and chairs for your alfresco dining, and teak steamers and sun lounges provide plenty of space for sunning or reading. The Gazebo, looking out over the pool to Jost Van Dyke and open water, also furnished with teak furniture. Be sure to try the outdoor shower at the side of the gazebo: private, shaded by beautiful tropical plants, it also offers views of the sea and the islands in the distance. Also opening to the outside deck and steps away from the pool is the third master bedroom suite.

Every area in VILLA ALLANO opens to a panoramic view that includes Cane Garden Bay, St. Thomas, Jost Van Dyke and other islands. The sunsets are simply spectacular.

VILLA ALLANO is ideal for families or three couples. It is a three minute drive or ten minute walk down to the beach at Cane Garden Bay. The walk back up takes slightly longer, but provides good exercise and is a great excuse for a pina colada and a dip in the pool! Also within a short drive from the perfectly located VILLA ALLANO are the BVI capital of Road Town, as well as the north shore beaches at Brewer’s Bay, and Long Bay and the surfing beach at Apple Bay. A short distance further is the beautiful beach at Smuggler’s Cove. VILLA ALLANO’s many amenities and comfortable living spaces make “staying in” a delightful option, but a veritable smorgasbord of restaurants and night spots are just a short drive away.

Arrangements can be made by our house manager, Cassandra, for you to be met at the airport or ferry terminal for the drive to VILLA ALLANO. Cassandra will also help you find the best places to eat, make reservations for day sails, etc. She is a wealth of information about the local culture and people, and is always just a phone call away. Rental of four-wheel drive vehicle (a real necessity on hilly Tortola) can also be arranged.

VILLA ALLANO is non-smoking; maid service is provided mid-week.

Villa Allano was perfect for a 3-couple vacation. The house had everything we needed and was warm and inviting. The best was sitting on the deck each morning/evening to enjoy the stunning view. The house is in the perfect location to explore the island, but we really enjoyed how close it is to Cane Garden Beach and the restaurants. Highly recommend.

Villa Allano was perfect for our family. The views were stunning, the house was well-appointed (and we appreciated the wide variety of books and games!), and we had plenty of room. Our boys swam in the pool most days, and we loved the nearby shaded gazebo/patio area - and the balconies for drinking coffee in the mornings. The villa also was in a great location - quiet, not far from beautiful beaches (though we drove rather than walked), but also close to some solid restaurant options. The driveway up is not for the faint of heart, but that is true for just about every property we saw on the island - it's just goes with the territory with a mountainous terrain. I really appreciated the local recommendations and wealth of information about things to do on Tortola that Colleen sent to us in advance of the trip. Cassandra, the property manager, was delightful, and we were so appreciative that she met us the first night and helped us get to the property. If it weren't for her, we probably would have spent the entire first night circling the island aimlessly. All in all, a wonderful trip, and we would happily return to Villa Allano in the future!

What we loved about this Villa: great communication with owners, very friendly property manager, homey feel, comfortable beds (this is pretty uncommon Ive found, even in relatively high-end places), gorgeous views, well-equipped kitchen, outdoor shower, decorated tastefully, direct balcony from all bedrooms, nice breezes so no need for A/C, and close to hiking and a wonderful little village and beautiful beach. The technology was a little dated (small TV and old Ipod doc) but we didnt care. We werent there to watch TV.When we were there we did some exploring to find the best beach on Tortola. We found the closest beach to the house, Cane Garden Bay, to be one of the best. We loved the gentle waves, calm swimming water, pretty sand, and convenience of bars and restaurants right on the beach. Cane Garden is a really lovely little town. The atmosphere is so mellow and the people are so friendly. They also have 200-year old rum distillery there and if you hang around town youre bound to meet some of the family members. The rum is quite tasty and very affordable (dont buy it at the grocery store, buy it directly from the distillery). And this beautiful little town with its gorgeous beach is only a 3-minute drive from the Villa. Its also a 10-minute walk down and a 13-minute uphill walk back. The roads can be a little precarious to walk on (and to drive on) so be careful. But its a nice little workout to walk to town and back. Beaches we visited on Tortola: Smugglers, East Long Bay, West Long Bay, Cane Garden Bay, Brewers Bay. Out of those Cane Garden and Brewers were our favorites. Brewers Bay beach is about a 10-minute drive from the Villa. Its much more rustic and barely developed. We actually prefer this type of undeveloped beach but when we wanted to be closer to the Villa or to have more options for food and drink we went to Cane Garden. There is one little bar/restaurant at Brewers that closes at around 3. Another favorite for us was the proximity to Sage Mountain National Park. This is a lovely place to hike. Its less than 10 minutes away by car. We got up every morning at around 7 and hiked there (we had to work off some of that rum and all those pineapples!). If youre used to extensive hiking you may find it small but we weaved back and forth on the various trails and easily got an hour-long hike each day. All in all, we LOVED the mood and feel on Tortola and thought the location and vibe of the villa was perfect.
