About this cottage rental
The Thelma Cottage brings to life the charming personality of Thelma Dickinson from Thelma and Louise, the classic film about two bffs on the ultimate road trip adventure. Boho charm with romantic details, this cottage is the perfect place to crash after a day exploring Garner park or floating the Frio.
As Thelma would say “You said you and me was gonna get outta town and, for once, just really let our hair down. Well, darlin', look out, 'cause my hair is comin' down”
Enjoy the tranquility of front porch sittin’, bird watching, the relaxation of Frio river floatin’, or gorgeous hiking at Garner Park. We are only 2.5 miles from Garner State Park.
If you want to hangout in the river for the day, we are just a few miles from the popular low water crossings. We are 2.6 miles from Magers Crossing, and 3.3 miles from Seven Bluffs Crossing.
For a proper float, we are just a few miles from all of the popular tubing outfitters/shuttle services. Happy Hollow, Josh’s, and Andy’s are all about 5 miles away.
Every morning, you will be greeted by a variety of birds in the front yard. The area is known for many incredible birds. We’ve seen indigo buntings, painted buntings, bluebirds, cardinals, the golden cheek warbler, and many more amazing birds on our property, and in the area.
You will have full access to this one bedroom tiny home, including the front porch, picnic tables, fire pit, and bbq pit. Be sure to bring charcoal and firewood.
We offer coffee, tea, and light snacks for you to enjoy during your stay.
It’s Frio time!
*Be sure to bring beach towels. We do not allow our towels to leave the property, and you will be charged $15 per missing towel.
*We do have other rentals available on the same property to accodomidate larger groups.
*This listing will include a 4% local and 6% Hotel Occupancy Tax.
*We only do 1 night bookings during the week. On weekends, there is a 2 night minimum*
** We do have wifi on the property, but it is limited and slow. It's rural country wfi, and cannot handle streaming services. The wifi is here if you need to check your email, send a text, or make a call**

This is a very cute, comfortable cabin that meets all the basic needs. It's well supplied for cutlery and dishes, etc. Leah goes to extra lengths to put in REAL plants and to have little touches around that make you feel very welcome when you get there. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. The bed, by the way, super comfortable!

My dad & I took a two day nostalgic trip to the Concan/Garner Park area to reminisce about the days when our family spent our summer vacations camping there. Jake & Leah were wonderful hosts! Their communication was excellent. They provided great tips for eating and sightseeing options. We couldn’t have felt more welcomed at the Thelma Cottage. I asked that Leah please arrange for some balloons to be in the cottage for my dad’s birthday, and she graciously obliged.
If you are looking for a high end resort, this is not your spot. However, if you are wanting a warm, cozy feeling of being with family...The Inn Between is your spot! We would definitely return!

Had some difficulty in finding the place due to a lack of signage in the front. It was particularly difficult at night because of lack of lighting.
Thanks for the muffins, they were very good.
The only reason I would consider not returning is because of the constant noise from trucks on the highway at night.
