About this villa rental
Located at the foot of the Mompilieri crater and towered by the immensity of the Etna, Villa nel Monte enjoys the tranquility of an ancient and unspoiled landscape, pampered by the luxury of its interior and its private pool.
The villa is born of the precious connection of art and knowledge of a father, skilful restorer, and his son, architect with innovative and eco-sustainable ideas. The result is a sophisticated, modern and at the same time profoundly Sicilian villa, ideal for those who are looking for an authentic holiday without renouncing style and comfort.
You can access Villa nel Monte from a spacious and bright living room with sofa bed, a modern kitchen and access to the terrace and the panoramic garden. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, all equipped with windows and air-conditioning. Two bathrooms with shower are one in the living area and the other in the sleeping area. A third bathroom and a fourth bedroom are located in the independent annexe, just below the terrace and closer to the pool.
At 5 minutes walk from the house is Nicolosi, a vibrant village known as the 'Porta dell'Etna' that offers numerous restaurants, shops and sports facilities and is a must for those who wish to explore the largest volcano in Europe. In other words, you will have everything you need and more without ever having to take the car. Also, directly from the villa, a very nice path enriched by fruit trees leads to the top of Mount Mompilieri with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Catania.
When you are ready to leave Nicolosi and the wonders of Etna, with 20 minutes drive you can reach Catania with its baroque buildings, the ancient fish market, the shopping streets and a fine sandy beach. With just one hour drive, you will find Taormina, a world-class and elegant town, considered by many to be the pearl of the Mediterranean, and Siracusa, a fascinating and timeless town, with a romantic promenade and an ancient Greek theatre that cannot be missed.
Whether you want to enjoy the Sicilian summer from a cooler and more privileged location or dream of skiing in winter on the snow of Mount Etna, Villa nel Monte is without a doubt one of the best holiday homes in this part of Sicily.

In a room on the first floor, the single bed is a 160 cm children's bed.
The price includes a set of linens and bath towels per person.
On request, it is possible to arrange a transfer (for up to 7 people). However, we recommend that all our guests rent a car for their stay in Sicily.
The private pool measures 9 by 4 meters and it is completely fenced. The pool is open all year round.

We had a completely fabulous stay for a family holiday at Giulia’s place! It was a beautiful location, in a great spot close to a lovely little village. There was lots of room for all of us, and we felt right at home straight away, in part due to the home-made treats Giulia had left for us which were all delicious! We had a bit of trouble with the internet while we were there, which we believe was a fault with the network, and Giulia and the team did their best to try and rectify this, though sadly we didn’t manage to use any WiFi throughout our stay which wasn’t ideal (but not our hosts’ fault!) As other reviews mention, there are dogs at neighbouring properties which are constantly loud, but again not something the team can help and once we put our earbuds in we were no longer bothered about it, so pack earplugs ☺️ The cats at the property were also delightful, and we would have taken one home if we could!! Overall we had a wonderful stay, and would recommend it to everyone.

We had the best time in the Villa. It’s was a great size, kids loved to pool and play area. It was equipped with everything you could possibly of needed and loads of thoughtful little touches. We didn’t have a car but was super easy to get around everywhere on foot. We would love to come back sometime .

Our stay was amazing from the moment we got there. The house had everything we needed and some necessities left for us including a lovely cake. Plenty of room for 5 of us in the house. Felt very comfortable and homely. It also felt very secure. The outside was very well maintained with the lovely pool, lots of umbrellas and sun loungers. A lovely big outdoor table which we often used in the evening. The cats were very friendly and being cat owners we made friends easily! Nicolosi 10 mins walk with lovely restaurants and bars. With only a week there, it went very quickly as we went to Mount Etna, Taormina and Catania. Easily accessible with the car. We particularly enjoyed the days at the villa with the pool and peaceful surroundings. Guilia was great with any questions we had and Toti was around to make sure the pool was cleaned and cats fed. I would highly recommend this villa for a peaceful, private and relaxing holiday with family and friends. Thank you Guilia and Toti!

Villa Nel Monte is beautiful. Our experience was fantastic. The photos accurately represent the property. It is located in Nicolosi outside of Catania which is about 25 minutes from the airport. It is very walkable into town with some fabulous restaurants and patisserie!!
The Toti family owners are a dream to work with. Communication is easy through WhatsApp and was continuous throughout the trip as we had questions about restaurants, wineries etc. They are so attentive to their guests without being the least intrusive.
Upon arrival we were greeted according to our arrangement. For us there was a delicious homemade cake, fruit, water, it made for a wonderful greeting after a long travel experience. We had a tour of the house and property…..so very beautiful.
We lacked for nothing as everything is well thought out for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped with pot and pans and utensils for home cooked meals. The property is large enough (and beautiful) to allow guests plenty of space for alone time as well as communal living and eating. The sleeping arrangements work well as we had 8 adults (couples and singles). The bedrooms are well appointed and very comfortable. There is a washer and drying racks. Ample towels and linens.
I travel quite a bit and of the various villas I have stayed at Villa Nel Monte has been the most beautiful, well equipped, comfortable and relaxing. You would be hard pressed to find a family as wonderful as the Lidia and her family as the owners.
