Summary:
🌺 Settle into this colorful 2-bedroom, 2-bath casita, full of Mexican character. A cheerful kitchen and domed brick ceilings give the space a warm, homey feel. Unwind in the comfy palapa, stretch out in the hammock and enjoy the ocean breeze. 🌴
Set on a corner within a quiet community of six casitas, the home includes air conditioning, fiber internet and access to a shared pool. 💦 The stairs leading down to Playa Manzanillo are about a 10-minute walk away. A cozy base for couples or a small family to enjoy Puerto Escondido.
The Space:
The kitchen is fully equipped and open to the dining area and living room. The living room and main bedroom have domed brick ceilings with ceiling fans, and there's air conditioning as well.
Bedrooms: the main bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom a queen bed.
Bathrooms: two full bathrooms.
Kitchen: stove, oven, fridge, coffee maker and blender, plus cookware, dishes and a dining table. Coffee is provided.
Outdoors: a small courtyard, a balcony and the palapa upstairs, with a hammock, built-in seating and views. There's a BBQ grill too. Through the courtyard, a second gate leads to the pool, shared with the other five casitas.
Extras: fiber internet (the speed test in the photos shows about 114 Mbps), Apple TV, washer and dryer, iron, hair dryer and a spot for your laptop. Maid service once a week is available for a fee.
Guest Access:
The casita is all yours, with its own private entrance. The pool is shared with the other five casitas in the gated group, and the neighbors are quiet and friendly.
The Neighborhood:
A quiet street close to the coastal walk. The stairs down to Playa Manzanillo are about 10 minutes on foot, and Playa Principal and the Adoquín are 10 to 15 minutes. Playa Marinero, where Zicatela begins, is about 25 minutes on foot, and Playa Carrizalillo about 25 minutes.
Puerto Escondido has coves that are great for swimming and learning to surf, beaches for body surfing, and world-class waves at Zicatela.
Getting Around:
You can walk to several cove beaches from the casita. Taxis are easy to find and handy in the evening. There's free parking on the street and a garage.

Loved the property and its great outdoor spaces, especially the upstairs Palapa surrounded with blooming flowers. The shared pool is very clean and inviting. It was very quiet the whole time we were there. The air conditioning and ceiling fans in each room is welcome. We ate out most meals except for breakfast, but the kitchen is a nice space. We walked everywhere day and evening and felt safe, to all the restaurants, beaches, Mercado. It is hilly in places, but taxis are everywhere and very affordable. Look into downloading the ap named WhatsApp, as that’s how Maria (the property manager) likes to communicate as well as tour guides, etc. Caitlin and Maria responded quickly to my inquiries. I’d suggest the property provide a hair dryer, as it’s a bulky item to travel with. Thank you, we would definitely return to this property and Puerto Escondido.

The property was really lovely. Great neighborhood. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Be prepared for lots of hills. Check in was a bit chaotic as we arrived late and had to wait outside fo 25 minutes for Maria. Not a big deal we were just really tired from travelling.

Great responsiveness and friendly helpfulness from owner, manager, house and garden people for this super-clean, comfortable casa with lovely architectural and traditional features. Loved the red tile floors, domed brick ceilings with natural light, hummingbirds in the bougainvillea. Well provisioned and well maintained. Good new air conditioners in living area and master, overhead fan only in second bedroom, excellent window screens. Having two bathrooms, a washing machine, and safe parking really made us feel we had uncrowded convenience. We loved the rooftop palapa with ocean views and the pool, those neighbors whom we met, and the easy walk to the beach. (Go down through town.) The part of town above the Costera highway Is local and small and easy by car or the many inexpensive taxis, with fun clean outdoor markets and artisans’ shops and a well stocked grocery. Exceptional birding on the lagoon - we saw 62 species in one day by panga! - and the turtle protection - as well as surf - are OUTSTANDING! Gina at the town’s tourist kiosk will connect you to experiences like these and adds history and ecology with lots of good cheer. You will love her! We felt we had the best of everything in Puerto Escondido while staying in this great home..
