Staying in Motovun is perfect if you were planning on visiting Istra. As Motovun is situated in the very hear of Istra, all the 'must-see' places can be reached easily and under an hour! Motovun itself has a lot of activities to offer: truffle hunting tour and wine tasting tour being only two of them! Allow yourself to be taken aback by this fertile region and dive in into an amazing gastronomic experience!
Some of the must see's around here are definitely Grožnjan, Buzet, Poreč, Novigrad, Rovinj, Pula and Brijuni!

There is no public transport in Motovun (apart from the shuttle that takes you up the hill) and, in general, I would recommend not counting on public transport while in Istra. That's why Istra is the ultimate road-trip destination, something like the California of Europe. So rent your car and get ready for the adventure!

I can't wait to get back here! Miro and his wife were lovely hosts. The views were spectacular, and it was very secluded and peaceful. We went on a truffle hunt with Miro, and his wife fixed us brunch afterwards. Amazing experience!
