Cortijo Rural el Mirador, with private pool

My husband and I have rented often through VRBO, but this cortijo was the most beautiful property we've ever visited. The grounds are extensive and perfectly maintained. The house is high up in the hills, and the scenery is magnificent. Lying in the hammock, I could see the snow-capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada. The house itself is charming. It is very well appointed and decorated in a traditional and appealing style. There is plenty of hot water, and the bathrooms were convenient and spotless. Beds are comfortable. We especially liked the wooden shutters, which kept the bedroom dark, quiet, and warm.The pool was beautiful and I swam once, even though it was chilly.On the level below the house are a chicken and pigeon coop.The chickens provided some fresh eggs the first day. The rooster crows right on schedule in the morning, which took a little adjustment.The road to the house is winding, partially paved and partially gravel, and driving up and down requires an adventurous spirit.The secluded location makes the house hard to find. Our hosts were very responsive, but Emilio had to escort us to the house after we got lost. I think a better driving map would help with check-in.Fernanda responded quickly to all our questions or concerns. We regret not speaking Spanish, so communication with Fernanda and Emilo was somtimes difficult. But their daughter Alejandro speaks English well and was very helpful.Overall, an exceptional experience in a unique setting.

Très belle maison dans un coin très calme en toute intimité , vue magnifique. Toute la famille a apprécié autant les adultes que les ados et même notre dernière âgée de trois ans. La maison est grande et très pratique. Une grande piscine. Un très grand espace autour de ma maison. Un petit poulailler loin de la maison y a pas d'odeur d'animaux très propre et des colombes, les enfants s'amusaient à les lâcher le matin et fermer le soir Les hôtes étaient très accueillants, très serviable et très sympathiques. Un grand merci pour Emileo et Fernanda.

Nos ha encantado el alojamiento y hemos estado genial. La casa está muy bien cuidada y no le falta de nada. Los dueños de la casa son encantadores, cercanos y con un trato exquisito. Para repetir!!!
