About this house rental

This older lake cottage has four bedrooms and one and a half baths (recently updated). The floor coverings and mattresses were updated in 2018. There are 3 queen and 5 twin beds-all on the second floor. The living area is fairly large, The deck is good sized and overlooks the lake. There are multiple steps down to the lake. with eighty feet of lakefront. Nicely landscaped. Kitchen is fully furnished. Washer and dryer on site. Gas grill available for use. Private dock. Parking for up to three vehicles provided. We are 20 minutes from Shipshewana, Michiana Event Center and 10 minutes from Sylvan Cellars Event Center. We are close to multiple county parks. Delt Church Park has a Disc Golf Course and walking trails (5 miles), Pine Knob Park has a 3-D archery course and a boardwalk trail though a natural fen (14 miles), and Duff Memorial Park has a small mountain bike trail (15 miles). If you like nature, this is the place for you!

The photo of the house from the lakeside does not do it justice. This is a sweet house that has been lovingly maintained and thoughtfully appointed. We were at Lolo's for three days to spend time in an area we love and with friends we enjoy. Lolo's was the icing on the cake!

The only thing that I can think of Is to take the Ouija Board that you have nailed up on the wall, is to maybe consider taking it down cause it may offend some people!! Other than that we feel it was great!!

The home was very comfortable and well maintained with beautiful gardens. Kids were able to swim from pier….loved the games and puzzles and nice fire pit for S’mores! The lake is quiet and several sandy areas to anchor and swim. The cottage was perfect for us and hope to return.

This is our second time staying at this house. It is a beautiful house, very clean, and stocked with just about anything you need. Lynn is very nice and very helpful in answering any questions you may have. The lake is really nice and overall pretty quite. The couple who rents this is very nice, the home is beautiful cant wait to go back. Hoping in the warmer days. Beds are not comfy enough for all of us but planty of bed space, next tume a foam top will help i can bring. We really loved staying here so much. Moms weekend which are fabulous. The house is extremely clean and comfortable in a quiet neighborhood. Beautiful lake views. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and their was plenty of bath towels. Owner was very responsive and check in and out was seamless. We returned to Lolo's Lakeside Retreat for the second time this summer. Lynn and Trina were again, the quintessential hosts! The house and beautifully landscaped yard were in pristine order when we arrived. The weather was terrific for outdoor dining every meal every day! We even caught a few bass! Large older spacious home ready for family and friends to enjoy the lake. Very peaceful area and wonderful hosts that live behind the house in a newer home. Our son rented a pontoon boat and it was fun for all. Water is shallow for quite a ways out so it is good for children. We are returning next year which will be our 5th year. Great casual living on Oliver Lake.

Our stay was for two nights with 6 adults. We enjoyed time on the deck and the spacious living room. We mostly used the home for sleeping as we were out and about during the day in Shipshewana. Having the one shower was not an issue for us as we all got up at different times, just takes some planning. We found Coody Brown's Lakeside Grill the first evening for dinner. There is a Dollar General not far to stock up on snacks.

Everything was as we expected and then some from the VRBO listing from amenities to supplies on hand. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bedding and towels are of great quality. We loved our weekend at the property. The 9 of us had plenty of room at the tables in the dining area to eat together and play games. There was ample very comfortable seating in the living room for all of us as well. The beds were very comfortable, and I had the best night's sleep in a long time. There was plenty of hot water for all of us while getting ready each morning. The hostess has thought of so much to make our stay more comfortable and safe. She even listed instructions for where to shelter in case of bad weather and provided flashlights and a radio. The forecast was such that we did place those by the door we would use to get to the cellar--just in case. It was too windy and chilly to sit on the deck, but we would have loved to do that as well. Thanks for a very nice place for our weekend.

The house is very clean but old Lots of little things in the bathroom that you might have forgotten, things like hairspray and shaving cream. The area is very secluded And nowhere to go if you are looking for entertainment and food . The water in the lake is clean but very shallow. You will walk and walk and walk and it will be still up to your waste line. It is good for kids and people who does not like to swim. You may bring some DVDs to watch movies in the evening. There are some DVDs but they are old in production. There are books to read if you are a reader. Otherwise it is quite boring and nothing to do in the evening. There are books and games for children. We enjoyed our stay in the house. The owners are very nice and hard working to maintain excellent landscaping. The water that is used in the house comes from a well and has a strong smell of sulfur. You may bring your own drinking water as we did to make coffee or tea and drink. Kids may not like the smell of water to wash faces and brush teeth. Otherwise the place is very nice.
