The Rockpool Beach House - seconds from the Beach

Great ocean view from the balcony. 5 mins walk to the flags at South Avoca beach. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Cupboards stocked well, tea towels, dish cloths and all kitchenware included which is rare in my experience these days. Great communication with the host who was extremely helpful.

Everything about Rickpool house & Avoca is FANTASTIC.You feel the sea breeze & see the ocean from the decking & a delight from morning to night.The patrolled beach is a 5 min stroll, with cafes & the quintessential Avoca Theatre which is a bygone beauty that I hope if there for generations to come.Thai, Pizza restuarants are 10 min stroll away with Gelat, supermarket & BWS so no need to get in the car inless you want to visit the beautiful National Parks (you have a trail from the beach so you dont even need the car)All rooms are very spacoius on all 3 levels.This house is well designed & built & highly recommended.

In some aspects, the photos/description of this listing dont do it justice. I was a little hesitant with 5 kids and and old dog as to how this was going to work out. I was also unsure of location. What we got was 7 humans and happy canine after a week of Avoca bliss. Every kid and teen had their own bedroom and aircon (note that there is no aircon in lowest level-room with three single beds and queen room backing onto yard) but we made-do by buying fans. Your upper level (kitchen/dining/lounge/outdoor balcony) provided everything we needed as well as the views and sounds of the ocean. Surf club and cafes are literally across the street. The main drag with other shops and restaurants is a 5 minute walk. Kids had freedom and security to come and go as they pleased. Two huge bathrooms and laundry are most practical. Quiet street and neighbours. This property provided a most needed beach respite and would happily recommend.

Great location - short walk to the beach. Nice view. Lots of space for a big group. We were 7 adults and two children. With 5 bedrooms the accomodation for a big group works well. Unfortunately the place was very dirty. Floors hadn't been vacuumed/swept. Kitchen counters dirty. Pillows yellow, stained, and in in some cases mouldy. Drawers and cupboards had a lot of junk in them. Serious mould on some window sills and on the air con vents. All the blinds are dirty with mould on the top of them. Windows all dirty. The place needs a major clean. Dishwasher only partly worked. Nothing on the top rack got clean. Bad smell from the kitchen sink. Bathtub unusable as the spout is blocked and only a fine spay of water comes out. We would have liked to use it for the two young children.
