We were there to snowboard, so the location was good. The host arranged for mules to take us up the mountain (since the lifts are not operational until they are rebuilt). The host arranged with Chez JuJu to let us base there during the day since getting to and from the chalet was so difficult. (A huge shout-out to Chez JuJu for their hospitality and the quality of their food!!). The host arranged for our taxi to return to Marrakech. It really helped that the host spoke/texted English well since we do not speak Arabic or French.
The last mile of the road to the chalet was not plowed. Rather than walk us up the road, the host led us off-road straight up the steep hill in the dark in knee-deep snow with us carrying our luggage. The elevation of the chalet is approximately 8600' so add the discomfort of thinner air to the difficulty of the walk. The chalet was really cold and there were only two space heaters (one per bedroom).
