Messages through Booking.com were replied to promptly, even around 9pm. Provides lots of important amenities such as washer/dryer with detergent, microwave, fridge...
Humidifier started leaking in the middle of the night and spilled lots of water. Cookware is quite worn but if you come to Japan planning to do heavy cooking instead of the excellent local food, I'd say that's time misspent.

It has everything one could need for a self catering apartment. It was close to the main shopping (and only one) of Biei, with a supermarket around the corner. All within 5 mins of walking, which is fine depending on the weather. We had a car and the apartment had a designated parking space for us, so that was great.
We booked an apartment for 5 but it really is only for 4. It had three single beds and a twin sized futon (but realistically it was more like a 1.5 single). There was no additional thin mattress for the thin futon so we were literally sleeping on the hard floor surface.
