The cottage is very comfortable, tastfully designed, and has all the amenities you could need. It is beautifully secluded, with plenty of space and privacy. The nearby village of Gietrzwałd is also quite special, as it is officially recognized as one of only 12 places in the world where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared, making it an important pilgrimage site. We had no idea about this beforehand (we are neither Polish nor religious), but found it fascinating. If you have the chance, it is quite special to witness the short ceremony in the church at 9 p.m., when the painting is ceremonially covered for the night. Another unexpected highlight was the inn across the road, Karczma Warmińska. During the summer season, it organizes Polish dance nights every Friday evening. We just happened to stumble upon one, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay.

It exceeded our expectations.

Cudne miejsce, w środku lasu, cisza i spokój. Posesja pięknie zagospodarowana, z duszą i polotem. Przemiła Pani Właścicielka, uśmiechnięta, chętnie opowiada o okolicy i jej skarbach. Dla mnie wymarzone miejsce do wypoczynku.

Cisza i wszechobecny spokój. Wszystko zadbane, przygotowane i podane wręcz na tacy.
