Zion Lodge - Inside the Park

Our stay at Zion Lodge itself was wonderful. The rooms themselves are simple, but comfortable. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The location is what sets it apart - right in the middle of zion canyon, gorgeous views through, with short walks away from the starts of many bucket list hikes. The property is quiet. The restaurant is good for dinner, breakfast could have been better. However, booking through agoda was a nightmare. We did not actually have a confirmed reservation until 4 days prior to our trip. The reservation was a merge of two different reservations; luckily, it was the same room type, but the staff told us that often the room types are different and so folks have to check out and check back in. Agoda seems to wait for cancellations to book the room, taking your money without any guarantee of a stay. There is a place for this service in the market, but they are not upfront about what they are doing. I will avoid forevermore, and I suggest you do as well.

Incredible location halfway to the Zion Valley starting trek for the canyon walks. Peak season pricing is just ridiculous, in which case you should stay in Springdale and take the bus because you will save a lot of money. Otherwise, waking up in this hotel and seeing the surrounding majestic backdrops is something you will remember forever.

It is not worth staying at Zion lodge because the shuttle bus is soo accessible. There are no extra amenities, no pool, no hot tub, we didn’t even have a TV in the cabin. Staying at Springdale would have been cheaper with the same amazing views, better restaurants.

The location is ideal. The room was spacious, updated, and clean. The restaurants were horrible. The breakfast food at the cafe was frozen Bob Evan’s sandwich’s which were not edible. The lodge restaurant menu was very limited. The food was average and the service was slow and uninspired. Only Emma showed ability and skill.
