    If I could give this 10stars I would. Moon is an amazing host and can help you with transportation & activities. I had a late-night pickup and she managed to get someone out within 10 minutes. Very reliable, very sweet & I will be coming back.

    My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at the Zen. It’s such a beautiful peaceful place, we were fortunate to be the only guests so we had the entire place to ourselves. The cabins are private, set in beautiful forest, surrounded by trees with views of tree covered hills. There’s a beautiful central garden with a very nice pool. The remote location was great for a get away to relax. Arriving you need to know that Google maps will direct you to the Ban xieng lom, near the elephant village , which is not correct… if you look at the satellite image, you can see the correct path… there are signs to ‘ Zen’ it is a rough bumpy. We paid 100,000kip in a van from the train station. If you contact the property, they can arrange pick up. The resort manager, Moon is super friendly, attentive and eager to help as we all her other staff. From the resort you can walk through the bush, behind the spirit resort and the elephants to Ban Xieng Lom village (takes about 30mins). The village is small, there a few shops, temple and a couple of other restaurants/ hotels there offering tours. We mainly ate at the zen hotel restaurant, which was excellent. Meals cost around 80-120,000kip. The breakfast menu had a good range of options including fruits, eggs and local dishes. Beers (50,000kip) wine and cocktails also available. I would definitely come stay again if I return to the area.
