The property is brilliant. So unique, isolated and every tent is private, like you own a piece of the land. Service and food has to improve. Spa facilities are practically non existent, massage had to be cancelled due to confusion. Breakfast was very good but lunch and dinner disappointing. I would still recommend the place provided they improve their overall service

Yamu was an excellent choice for our short break near Clanwilliam. The property has only been open for a few months and the dining room is yet to be completed but the suites are amazing with fantastic views and great design. Even though the menu at the riverside bar was limited it was no problem for us for a few days and it all tasted delicious. There is a pool and a spa and very hilly terrain with electric golf carts for getting around. As our tent was the furthest from the bar/food we were given our own buggy which we loved. We walked the terrain early in the day but it was extremely hot whilst we were there so couldn’t do as many walks in the area as we had planned. Overall I would definitely recommend Yamu as fantastic accommodation in the most beautiful of settings.

A beautiful new property in an outstanding location with breathtaking views of the Glen William Dam and the surrounding mountains. The tents are spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, with great indoor and outdoor seating areas. The bathroom was a highlight, especially the outdoor shower. The staff were incredibly friendly, supportive, and genuinely open to feedback, which we really appreciated. The beach bar serves excellent food and offers a nice swimming area, and the spa experience was outstanding with a fantastic massage. One thing to note: due to the tent-style accommodation, noise can be an issue. On windy nights, the crackling of the tent and wooden structure can be constant and may disturb sensitive sleepers. The fridge was also quite loud and needed to be switched off at night. Additionally, the music at the beach bar is rather loud and energetic rather than relaxed, which may not suit everyone. Overall, a very promising new place with great service and atmosphere, with just a few points to consider for guests sensitive to noise.
