I’ve recently had the misfortune of staying at Bon hotel garden city Port Harcourt from 12th to 20th November 2024, and most say it was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
Poor Room Conditions
I was given a room that still had the previous guest smell and hair on the floor. To top it up and bathroom tap was unable to come on and after 1 hour I was able to get it working. And I also noticed that the bathroom was not cleaned as there was a used bar soap in the shower. After the first night I noticed that my key wasn’t working so I informed the front desk to fix it which they promised to, to my greatest surprise when I got in that night to a still not working key card so this led to me being escorted in to my room for a day and half.
To be honest I’ll keep my words few as I don’t want to bore you with my traumatic experience at this hotel. I’ll say stay away from this hotel if you don’t want to DIE. My room was fumigated while I was sleeping at 12:35am and nothing was done to put me in a safer room until I raised an alarm. Being asthmatic it is no execration that this action literally endangered my life. Even not being asthmatic it is still not appropriate to fumigate an environment when you still have guest sleeping in the rooms.
Also, while I was in search of a bottle opener in the mini fridge i discovered moulds and pelvic hair in the it, which indicated that the fridge hasn’t been cleaned for a LONG time.
It was stated that you’ll have a free WiFi, unfortunately during my 7 nights stay there was no wifi in the room. I recall a day when I needed to call my driver and requested for the password to the wifi in the lounge and the receptionist said no that it was against their policy to do so even while the room wifi was inactive and no formal apologies was ever issued for the lack of wifi.
Conclusion.
Please stay away from this hotel as there services and facilities are not up to standard. The building is been eating away by mould and it stinks.

The first shock was that the name had changed from BON hotel to something else.
Secondly no WiFi.
I was sweating in room I lodged the first day with the AC on, was really a horrible king deluxe room experience. The second day was much better as I was changed to another room.
The staff were good, courteous and tried to maintain a smile.(Not all though)
Lastly I wonder why they didn't clearly indicate on the Agoda portal that despite booking for 2 adults in a room, it is only one that is entitled for breakfast and the second person should starve?
Overall, It's not the Holiday experience I envisaged and planned for.
