Waterview On The Bay

Our stay at Waterview on the Bay was disappointing despite its attractive setting. We paid approximately *** for a two-night stay, and in addition to our Expedia booking, we were charged an extra 3% surcharge for paying by credit card rather than Interac debit or cash. At this price point, we expected accommodations that were clean, well maintained, and reflective of the property’s reputation. The accommodations felt very dated and in need of significant renovations. Cleanliness, particularly in the bathroom, was below expectations. The leather couch showed excessive wear and tear, the refrigerator leaked water throughout our stay, and the humidifier indicator remained red the entire time, suggesting it required maintenance. Even simple amenities were disappointing. The recreation room microwave took nearly three minutes to heat a single medium Tim Hortons black coffee, and the outdoor picnic table outside of our pool view room was very old with wood protruding, creating both an eyesore and a potential safety hazard. Although the property is advertised as being on the water, our room was quite a distance from the waterfront, requiring a fairly long walk to reach it. The views are beautiful once you get there, but they were not the experience we had expected from our room location. Overall, the waterfront setting is the property’s greatest strength, but the condition of the rooms, maintenance issues, and additional surcharge made the stay feel like poor value for the money. With updated accommodations, better upkeep, and greater attention to cleanliness and guest experience, this property has the potential to be much more enjoyable.
