    Owner Etsuko Suda had a vision to create a special place on a canal by the ocean - and she brought it beautifully to life. I LOVED my room, with v cool corner glass wall doors that open to a deck alongside the canal. And my breakfast was the best I’ve had in 2025 - simple but with innovative flavors, like apple with celery and walnuts together w a lemon honey dressing! Mine is a seven week trip seeking unheralded corners of “hidden Japan” and I definitely found it here at Waterside Cottage Heron. Will be hard to beat as special places go. Thank you, Etsuko!
