Booked based on your color photos in your site which are farther than the fact. No lift had to climb high rise steps at the age if 60+ and no response of staff for room supply no cleanliness and worst wash room. This is my experience. So don’t book thus hotel inspired by photos.
The one I booked at Palani in your app is far far better than this Kodaikanal hotel

The space is very less for parking. And there is a room boy. He will say anything for money….and only one facility is near temple….my ratting is 3/10….

Stayed here for one night with my family during our Palani visit. Booked through Agoda. We reached around 11 AM and they gave early check-in even though the check-in time is 12 PM, which was appreciated.
Location is excellent... Just a 2 minute walk to the temple steps, and you get a good view of Palani Malai from the hotel.
Room was clean, well maintained and comfortable.
Bathroom was clean, but no exhaust fan and no toiletries provided. Hot water is available, but in March even normal water feels hot...
Now the main issue... during checkout, cleaning staffs came to the room and directly asked for tips. Not just once, but in a way that felt pushy and uncomfortable, especially when we were in a hurry. This kind of behavior is not acceptable. Tipping should be optional, not something guests are pressured into. Hotel management seriously needs to address this.
Price was slightly on the higher side (above 2k for one night), but understandable considering the location and view. However, if guests are expected to tip multiple staff, it adds up and doesn't feel right.
Overall, the stay is clean and the location is great, but this tipping situation really affected the experience. If you're okay with this kind of forced tipping culture, you can consider this place. Otherwise be aware before booking...
