Charming and sophisticated small boutique hotel with a stunning infinity pool, featuring a chic Ibiza-style poolside oasis with various scattered seating areas for personal space —from sofas, lounge chairs, often covered with patio umbrellas, as well as dining tables—perfect for enjoying the breathtaking ocean view while sipping a delicious cocktail from the bar, and listening to chill-out music in the background. Truly relaxing vibe!
The rooms are well designed, elegant and exceptionally clean. The massive breakfast was spectacular, top-level, fresh ingredients and delicious.
Chris, the owner, was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful, going above and beyond, truly defining the 'personal touch.' We arrived in town early (around noon, well before the 3 PM check-in). Despite our early arrival, he immediately called housekeeping to expedite the room cleaning and make it ready as soon as possible, at no extra charge. The staff worked quickly to accommodate our early arrival. They checked us in within 10 minutes, which saved our day.
The hotel is about 4km from San Juan del Sur malecon where most restaurants are located and I would not recommend walking. We had a rental car for the trip, so this was not an issue, as it's a 10 minute drive. However, the owner can arrange for a taxi to drive you into town for USD $8.00 each way. Also, the closest beach is a 10 minute walk and I heard some areas might be steep. Personally, we didn't attempt to walk since we had transportation. We chose to visit Playa Maderas for it's laid-back vibe, beautiful surroundings and restaurants; it was a 9 minute drive. If you have transportation or willing to take a taxi, then this is a fantastic hotel. I loved that it is just outside of town, feeling secluded, but still so close. I highly recommended this hotel for a truly magnificent, luxurious, intimate and memorable experience!
