UTOPIC Campos Eliseos by ULIV

The hotel location was wonderful in the middle of the Polanco neighborhood and a short walk to all the wonderful shopping and restaurants and Masaryk Ave. The downside was twofold. First, there is a lot of noise in the area. The hotel is old and has old windows that not all of them shut well and even when closed you can hear the loud noises from the street. People talking loudly, music and construction work early in the morning. They actualy give you ear plugs which is a tell tell that the noise is indeed a problem. The other thing is that the hotel runs on very minimal staff. There is a lobby person and a guard and they fill other roles as well so when you come to the lobby many times no one is there and you have to wait or search for them. lastly - the hotel advertises that breakfast is included but the meal is very minimal - coffee and juices and some basic white bread and granola. In a town of such fantastic food we never ate at the hotel. The rooms were very clean and the staff was kind.
