    Room had a strong smell of drains that was pretty bad when we left and came back to the room when the air-con had been off for a while. We also had no power on 2/3 days for a number of hours at a time. No bin in the room other than toilet bin. Overall though the staff were really friendly and helpful, laundry service was good too and the pool was a nice touch and stayed cool because of the shade over the top of it. Location was excellent also, just a shame about the room having such a poor smell. Also - avoid the shortcut alley to fisherman’s village at night time!!!! It is full of aggressive dogs. In the daytime it’s absolutely fine to walk through it, but at night we saw 2 girls getting chased aggressively by a pack of 6 dogs. As we are both dog people the dogs must have sensed this and left us alone, but when speaking to some long termers in the hostel when we safely made it back, this was a known thing?!It would have been good to have the heads up in advance, as could have been bitten or worse. Overall a good hostel if you are looking to get a cheap stay (for Samui) with a central location near fisherman’s village.

    First double room was very musty and had damp and did not look like photos however we then moved to a bunk bed room which was much brighter and we did not mind this room. Air conditioning was not great and barely cooled the room. As a couple would not recommend as can get much nicer for the price
