Hotel is around 8-10mins walk from ueno station. Easy to find. Great value.

Great size room, very spacious compared to the average hotels in central tokyo. Hairdryer provided. A long shelf table against the wall was provided, not your average desk size, more of a shelf. Room had mini fridge, kettle, cups and bin. Note: hotel is next to a hospital so sirens may be heard in the night. It did not bother us. We had a view of skytree from our room, gorgeous. Bathroom was spacious, clean. Housekeeping everyday unless you request not by using the door sign. Like what others have said, you do have to leave room key when leaving and ask for it when coming back. A discount coupon is provided for familymart next door. Only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer available (detergent is provided for free on the side), coins are needed for operation. Dryer is attached to the ceiling (may be a bit hard to reach depending on your height). Hotel doors close at 2am. Overall great location, close to Ameyoko and Ueno station :)

We accidentally found this hotel because we had a bad booking elsewhere and we had to look for a place asap. We love the UENO area because it offers a direct transfer to the airport so this hotel was in the perfect location. It is only 3 minutes away from the station and Ameyoko, which we absolutely love. The staff was so nice, they offer coupons for the Family Mart downstairs. Bed was very comfortable, and the room was slightly more spacious than most affordable hotels in Tokyo. I rated perfect stars for cleanliness because they clean the room every single day, but one thing I think they should also do is to check the showerhead. Ours was dirty and I had to brush off the dirt in the shower head. But other than that, it was a very pleasant stay and I will 100% book here again. Thank you very much New Izu Hotel and staff.

I booked this hotel through Agoda and got the best price available. The facilities and rooms are a little dated, but considering the price I paid, I was satisfied with my stay. Good
