    Close enough to arena to walk .....we arrived early but we're allowed to check in lovely man who showed us in .....bit of a weird set up for nighttime energy but we managed .....room was good size and comfortable.....tea coffee biscuits kettle ......window blocked noise ......good place 4 1 night stay

    Stayed for 2 nights Friday and Saturday on a Bank Holiday weekend. Really friendly, helpful staff. Clean, all the facilities you need. Virtually opposite the Grand theatre. Just bare in mind its a 100 year old building the stairs are quite steep and its right at the end of Briggate the main nightlife are so can be noisy outside at night, The hotel thoughtfully provide disposable earplugs should you need although I found a couple of extra pints did the trick :) oh and 15% off at the bar as a hotel guest and they keep a smashing pint of real ale. I will stay again

    The staff were great, booking was easy. There were signs on the doors about maintenance being carried out but I don't know what that was in relation to. There was a sewery smell in the room which maybe that was referring to? Spacious rooms though not as glam as the photos look, but it's also not too expensive so I guess that balances out and it looks an old building. There were earplugs in the rooms but they didn't block out the nightclub nextdoor which is open til 5am, so no sleep. I wanted to use the bath but it looked very stained with black down the tiles and the bath. I didn't use it because of this, or the shower because I didn't want to clean it first. The bed was comfy and all the linens were clean and soft. I wouldn't stay again but if you want somewhere in the centre for the nightlife it would be fine.
