The room was small, but the price was good and the location worked well for us. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. The rooms are above a bar, yet surprisingly quiet. There were occasional loud voices outside, but we were able to sleep fine.

Ideal location only a few minutes walk into the city. Rooms are really nice and the breakfast is fantastic. A great bar with lots of different choice of drinks to choose from, all the staff are so friendly 😀

We stayed on the 31st Aug,as we were going to watch a band at the Barbican. The Waggon and Horses was our choice of stay over. What a great choice it was, lovely barstaff, we were a bit reluctant at first due to the parking arrangements. We parked across the road in a church car park. My silliness took me past the directions that were very precisely given to me. Parked up,got sorted. We went to see the band "Dead South " who were superb. Afterwards we went back to W&H,got a pint to take to room. The room was so spacious and comfortable, lovely bed..tea and coffee, 2 bottles of water. But someone had stolen a custard cream from a pack of 3. So we know there is a biscuit thief. We had a great night's sleep, went for a brekky in "W&H",absolutely lovely, great choice of brekky, we had full English. Which was lovely. Please try this place out if you are visiting the Barbican or York at any time. We will be 100% back. Thank you for your hospitality, Kev and Alicia, see you all again .

Needs a bit of an update, you get what you paid for, could do with window sorting out ,it doesn't shut properly so very noisey, maybe a black out blind n wider curtains to keep the glare of the street light out room 4 ,
